The historical influence of martial arts

Yao He's poems were famous and influential at the time. Many people studied his poems in the late Tang and Five Dynasties. By the middle of the Southern Song Dynasty, as a revolutionary of the Jiangxi Poetry School, a group of Jianghu poets also studied his poems. The poets of the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty wrote five-character verses, but they were not as good as Wang Wei and Meng Haoran, and most of them followed the path of Yao and He. However, I see that many of Yao He's poems selected in anthologies of Tang poetry do not seem commensurate with his potential influence. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Wei Zhuang felt that Yao He had selected too few works, so he also selected another "Youxuan Collection". He selected five poems by Yao He: "Dwelling in the Mountain", "Reporting to the King", and "Dwelling in Wugong County" (three poems). These five capitals are enough to represent the style of Yao He's poetry. By the time of the Five Dynasties, Wei Yu selected seven poems from Yao He in his collection of Cai Wei, among which only one, "Ji Wangdu", was the same as "Youxuan Collection". In addition, there are two poems "Qianbian Ci" and one "Sounding Cicada", which are not Yao He's powerful works. "Qianbian Ci" is a work of entertainment to flatter the border generals, while "Wen Chan" is imitated by Luo Binwang but not as good as him. What is strange is that the three important anthologies of Tang poetry, "Tang Poetry Zhengsheng", "Tang Poetry Interpretation" and "Tang Poetry Biecai", only selected one song, "Spring Day Early Morning Send Liu Qingju". Early Dynasty poetry should have a rich and solemn atmosphere, and the vocabulary it should use is by no means the vocabulary used by Yao He. There are four famous works by Jia Zhi, Wang Wei, Cen Shen and Du Fu in front of them, and Yao He can't help but know about them. The focus of his poem is definitely on "posting Liu's daily life" rather than "morning in spring". The concluding sentence "Don't laugh at Mr. Feng Tang, he also came to pay homage to the Holy King" is the theme of the whole poem, which probably means to ridicule Liu Qiju. As for the description of the early dynasty in the first six sentences, there is no speciality in terms of poetry or vocabulary. Moreover, the couplet "Colorful battles welcome the spring sun, cigarettes connect the auspicious clouds", which is obviously derived from Li Bai's "Frost battles hang over the autumn moon, and neon banners roll through the night clouds" (" Obtained from "Servant Yusu Hot Spring Palace"). "Three Hundred Tang Poems" selected 80 five-character poems, and none of Yao He's poems were included.

There were thousands of poets in the Tang Dynasty, each with his own talent, literature, and knowledge. Yao He's status in Tang poetry can only occupy one of the top positions. In the five-character rhymed poem volume of "Tang Shi Pin Hui", Jia Dao, Yao He, Li Shangyin, Li Pin, and Ma Dai were compiled into one volume and listed in "Zhengbian". The explanation goes: "After the Yuan Dynasty was restored, the law The styles are varied, Jia Dao and Yao are combined, and their thoughts are pure and bitter; Xu Hun and Li Shangyin are precise in their parallelism; Li Pin and Ma Dai are later interested, and they are very advanced in their time. His poems, totaling eighty-five, are Zhengbian. "Among Gao Peng's ranks of Tang poets, Zhengbian is already in the middle or lower level. In this test list, I think Yao He's rating is a little low. But comparing Li Shangyin's five-character verses to Xu Hun's and merely praising his precision in parallelism greatly humiliated Yuxi students.

Hu Zhenheng's "Tang Yin Gui Zhu" discusses Yao Heyun: "Yao He's poems are clean and straight, and they want to be high. They are interested in the remoteness of Langxian, and use them to be refreshing and bright; they are based on the origin and construction of shallow, and Mei Yixian is almost the same as the elder, but the body is sharp and small, and the body is slightly dull, so it is said that Yao He received Jia Dao, Zhang Ji, Wang Jian and others at the same time. people's influence and cleverly absorb their strengths. The achievement is "cleansed and clean, straight and high". I think Hu Zhenheng's comment is extremely appropriate, especially the word "desire" used in "to stand tall and have a high desire". Although Yao He's poems have been pure and flawless, they are still "high in desire" but not high. If you reach a high place, you can be promoted to the halls of Wang Wei and Meng Haoran.

The most talented people in the world are middle-class. If middle-level poets want to learn from Li Bai and Du Fu, they will never be able to learn from them. It is most convenient to learn from Yao He. Yao He's poems were not very good, but at that time, his poems had a high reputation, and they often became the model for poets in later generations. This is the reason why.
