Bai Juyi advocated that "articles should be written in time, and songs and poems should be written for things."
Bai Juyi was the main advocate of the New Yuefu Movement in the mid-Tang Dynasty, and put this idea into his own poetry creation practice.
His early political poems widely and profoundly reflected the social contradictions at that time and expressed deep sympathy for the people's suffering. His representative works "Ten Poems of Qin Zhongyin" and "Fifty Poems of New Yuefu" have sharp words, distinctive themes and great influence.

He described it vividly with his own poems. At that time, the state affairs ignored the life and death of the people and only cared about their own interests.
