Du Fu's life:
Du Fu (712-770), also known as Zimei and Du Ling, was a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty. He was born in today's Shaanxi Province and later moved to Chang'an (today's Xi'an City). Du Fu's poems are full of passion and social concern, reflecting his concern for the turmoil of the current situation and the suffering of people's livelihood.
Du Fu experienced many wars and political turmoil in his life. He participated in the military uprising after the Anshi Rebellion. At first, he had ideals and expectations for the Tang Dynasty regime, but later he gradually became disappointed with the corruption of the government and the laziness of the ruling class. His poems reflect his deep concern and criticism of social injustice, official corruption, and the suffering caused by war.
During his life, Du Fu was exiled and suffered from poverty many times. Despite this, he persisted in using poetry to express his thoughts and emotions and became one of the most influential poets in the Tang Dynasty. His poems are known for their true, touching, tragic and refined style, and are known as "the swan song in the history of poetry".
