What is a four-character poem?
Four-character poem is a poetic genre. Four-character poems first appeared in the ancient rhyme of Zhouyi, prevailed in the Western Zhou Dynasty, and gradually declined after the Spring and Autumn Period. Four-character poems circulated in history are mainly found in The Book of Songs. In addition, there are many four-character poems written by Cao Cao and Ji Kang in the late Wei Dynasty, Lu Ji and Lu Yun in the Western Jin Dynasty and Tao Yuanming in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Appreciation of four-character poems
Cao Cao, the tortoise is alive.
Although the tortoise has a long life, it still has its time. A poisonous snake flew in the fog and was finally covered with dust. The old horse lurks, aiming at a thousand miles.
The martyrs were full of courage in their later years. Surplus and contraction periods are not just in the sky. Blessings that nourish grace can last forever. I am glad to use this poem to express my inner desire.
