He pointed out that "knowledge is power" is the cradle of scientific dreams, the temple to carry forward the scientific spirit and the fertile ground to nourish scientific and technological innovation. It is hoped that Knowledge is Power will firmly grasp the opportunity of the change of the times, persist in advancing with the times, be brave in self-innovation, continue to give play to the advantages of professional authority, and play a greater role in guiding young people and even the public to know, love and make good use of science.
In his speech, Liu Jiaqi, Chairman of China Popular Science Writers Association and Academician of China Academy of Sciences, spoke highly of the role of "knowledge is power" in cultivating popular science writers and establishing an interactive platform between authors and readers. On behalf of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Director Li Jianchen fully affirmed the good results of Knowledge is Power in promoting the integration and development of traditional media and emerging media.
The theme commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the publication of "Knowledge is Power" presents the development process of the magazine's publication, reprint and revision in the form of stage play in the past 60 years. 1958- 1962 Teacher Wang Mailin, director of the editorial department of Knowledge is Power, a famous astronomer and teacher Wang Shouwan, who is over 90 years old, failed to attend the meeting in person, but they all specially recorded videos to congratulate the magazine on its 60th anniversary. Qu Jianqiao, a reader's representative and deputy director of the Institute of Environment and Health-related Product Safety of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said in his speech that he also started reading Knowledge is Power from middle school, and now he has grown from a reader to an author.
Lu Yongxiang, the author's representative, academician of China Academy of Sciences, academician of China Academy of Engineering, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) and former president of China Academy of Sciences, sent a message to young people to contribute their wisdom, youth and strength to the powerful country of science and technology, and learn more cutting-edge scientific knowledge and the scientific spirit of senior scientists from this magazine through other media; Gao Zhiqi, a famous lyricist, told a touching story about his father, Mr. Gao Shiqi. His father wrote the theme song for Knowledge is Power in 1979. Zhang Jinshuo, a reader's representative, a senior engineer of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a popular science planner of the National Animal Museum, said in his speech that knowledge is power magazine was his first mentor. In primary school, he gradually embarked on the road of animal science research.
Ouyang Ziyuan, the author's representative, a famous astrochemist and geochemist, the chief scientist of China's lunar exploration project, and an academician of China Academy of Sciences, expressed the hope that more scientists can use the platform of "Knowledge is Power" magazine to carry forward the scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, arouse young people's interest in the unknown world, stimulate young people's scientific and technological dreams, inspire young people's exploration spirit, and help them plug in the wings of science and practice their dreams; On behalf of the magazine, Guo Jing, the representative, president and editor-in-chief of Knowledge is Power, paid tribute to the hard work of the predecessors, showed the innovation and integration of the all-media platform of Knowledge is Power, and said that the team would take over the baton of the predecessors and carry forward the cause. Readers' representatives and award-winning representatives of national popular science stars performed the popular science drama "Carnival of PM Family". Guo Wei, Chairman of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of China Academy of Sciences, specially wrote the poem "Knowledge and Dreams" for the 60th anniversary of "Knowledge is Power". At the celebration, Yin Zhiguang, a famous recitation artist in China and head of Beijing Recitation Art Troupe, led the students to read deeply.
At the same time, representatives of "Outstanding Contribution Award" and "Knowledge Inheritance Award" gathered at the 60th anniversary of "Knowledge is Power". Creators represented by Wang Mailin and Lu Yongxiang won the Outstanding Contribution Award, and 53 editors, authors and readers represented by Liu Jiaqi, Ouyang Ziyuan, Xu Jianmin, Li Jiachun and Qi Faren won the Knowledge Inheritance Award.
