The Han, Wei and Six Dynasties is another important stage in the history of China's poetry development. It is the third prosperity of ancient poetry after The Book of Songs and Songs of the South. Classical poetry has made great progress in this period.
Both the content of poetry (the emergence of realism) and the artistic expression-metrical poetry were completed from the creative practice in this period, which is a long process. All these laid the foundation for the later Tang poetry.
The Han, Wei and Six Dynasties included the establishment of the Western Han regime (in 206 BC) and the demise of the Sui Dynasty (in 6 18 AD, the Sui Dynasty was generally divided into six dynasties in the history of literature). The development of poetry in this period mainly includes folk literature and literati literature.
Among them, literary creation has experienced a tortuous process from realism to formalism and aestheticism; Generally speaking, folk literature has maintained the fine tradition of realism and the fresh and lively artistic style inherent in folk songs.
The folk literature and early excellent works of this period were included in the folk songs of Han Yuefu. Yuefu is a music institution established in the Western Han Dynasty. Its task is not only to make music for the nobles to worship in the suburbs, but also to use folk poetry, that is, "to stress rhythm and orchestral music", that is, to match the music into lyrics that can be sung in chorus.
These "gossip" from the people, mostly from the lower classes of society, describe the lives and feelings of working people, which is more profound and vivid than the "Han Fu" that praised virtues that prevailed in the ruling class at the same time.
