McGrady's Creative Background

Haizi was the most outstanding lyric poet in China in 1980s. Because of the brand of the countryside and the inspiration of the master, Haizi created a unique image of the wheat field. Haizi's wheat field image permeates the divine experience and life concept in his creation, which makes the poetic space present unprecedented breadth and depth. Haizi's wheat field poems contain images of villages, people, sunshine, moonlight, sickles, trees, rivers and sweat derived from the word "wheat field". The wheat field is a spiritual home that Haizi can't give up. Haizi's wheat field experience is complicated. In his poems, Haizi endowed these poetic images with new meanings and linked them with personal experience in modern society.
