Analysis of new rhyme poetry

New rhyme poetry is a style of poetry that has evolved from the old style of metrical poetry.

Old-style metrical poetry:

Qijue: The whole poem has four sentences, each sentence has seven characters. It is required that the sentences are even and oblique, the rhyme is two sentences, the rhyme and the antithesis are parallel.

Wulu: Five-character poem, the whole poem has eight sentences, each sentence has five characters, and requires two sentences to rhyme and parallel each other.

Qilu: A seven-character rhyme poem, with eight lines in the poem and seven characters in each line. It is required that the rhymes of each sentence should be even and oblique and the beginning of the sentence should be in flat rhyme. The two sentences rhyme, the four sentences in the middle are in pairs and the upper and lower sentences are in pairs as an example.

New rhyme poetry is a new style of poetry that is based on these old style poems (such as Qijue, Wulu, Qilu). Write a new rhyme "Qi Jue" poem: the whole poem requires four sentences, each sentence has seven characters. It is not necessary to use level and oblique rhymes for the inter-sentences, and there is no need for antithesis, but the first and last words of the sentence should generally use the flat tone rhyme, and the last words of the two sentences should rhyme. The flat rhyme of the sentence should be from one rhyme to the end; when writing a new rhyme five-rhyme poem: the whole poem requires eight sentences, each sentence has five characters. There is no need to use flat rhyme or oblique rhyme in the inter-sentences, and there is no need to pay attention to antithesis. The first sentence should have flat rhyme, and double rhyme. The first words of the sentence should rhyme with flat tones, from one rhyme to the end; when writing new rhyme and seven rhymes: the whole poem has eight sentences, each sentence has seven characters. There is no need for parallel rhymes between the sentences, the middle four sentences do not need to be paired, and the upper and lower sentences do not need to be paired. But the first sentence should generally rhyme with a flat tone, and the remaining words in the two sentences should rhyme with a flat tone, from one rhyme to the end. When the above-mentioned old-style metrical poems are written as new-rhyme poems, the generally accepted method of rhyming is to use the first and second tones of the four tones of Mandarin as the flat-tone rhymes, while the rhymes of the old-style metrical poems are based on the ancient Pingshui rhyme. Rhyme, so new rhyme poetry is called "new rhyme" because of this. In other words, the new rhyme poetry is a reform of the old-style metrical poetry, retaining only the number of verses in the old-style metrical poetry, the number of words in each sentence, and the rhyming of the starting sentences with plain tones and alternate sentences (rhyming according to Mandarin pronunciation). The remaining features of the old-style metrical poems are The flat and oblique tones should be relative to each other, the upper and lower sentences should be adhered to each other, the four middle sentences should be in opposition to each other, and all should be discarded according to the strict rhyme requirements of "Pingshui Rhyme" in the old rhyme book. This is the new rhyme poem.
