What are the characteristics and influences of Cao Zhi's works?

Cao Zhi was a poet of Wei Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period. Most of his poems are five words. Most of his early works expressed his desire for life and the joy of feasting, and a few of his works reflected social unrest. His later works concentrated on his depressed and pessimistic disappointment with life. His poems make good use of metaphors, concise language and Hua Mao's words, which has a great influence on the development of five-character poems. He is also good at ci fu and prose, especially Luo Shen fu. The original series has been lost, and it was edited by Song Renji.
