Ode to Plum Blossoms (Bu Suan)
Song luyou
Outside the bridge, the plum blossoms are lonely, no matter what.
Twilight arrival, plum blossom is helpless, exhausted, and has to withstand the wind and rain.
Plum blossoms don't want to compete for blooming, and the envy and rejection of flowers don't care.
Even after autumn, when it is ground into dirt and turned into dust, plum blossoms still emit fragrance as usual.
There is a broken bridge outside the post station, and the plum blossoms bloom alone, and no one asks. Twilight arrival, plum blossom is helpless, sad enough, but destroyed by wind and rain. Plum blossoms don't want to try their best to compete for favor, and they don't care about the jealousy and rejection of flowers. Even if it withers, grinds into mud and turns to dust, plum blossoms still exude a faint fragrance as always.
About the author: Lu You (1125—1210), a writer, historian and patriotic poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, was born in Yinshan, Yuezhou (now Shaoxing). Lu you has many literary talents, especially his achievements in poetry. He said, "Ten thousand poems in sixty years" [86]? There are more than 9300 surviving songs, which can be roughly divided into three periods: before entering Shu at the age of 46, they tend to be literal; The period from entering Shu to retiring at the age of 64 is the mature period of his poetry creation, and it is also a period of great changes in his poetry style. He changed from "algae painting" in his early years to pursuing unrestrained style, full of fighting atmosphere and patriotic passion; After living in his hometown of Yin Shan in his later years, his poetic style tends to be simple and plain, showing an idyllic flavor, and from time to time revealing desolate life feelings.
