My confession

Chen Ran, a martyr who died less than a month after the founding of New China, will live forever at the age of 26.

For more than a year, from being arrested by the enemy to heroic sacrifice, Chen Ran persisted in fighting under the torture of the enemy.

In Baigongguan concentration camp, the enemy was afraid of knowing a lot of news before he was arrested. Chen Ran, a newspaper engraver, spread the news to other "political prisoners" and imprisoned him alone in a small house upstairs. It was in this damp cage that the secret "prison advance" was born under the eyes of the enemy.

It turns out that Chen Ran's cell has long been broken by his cellmate, so that he can get in touch with his cellmate downstairs. Through this small hole, the prison party organization handed Chen Ran half a pencil and some cigarette paper, and asked him to write the news outside on paper and pass it on. Chen Ran endured severe pain, regarded his cell as a battlefield and immediately went into battle. On a piece of cigarette paper, he solemnly wrote down the first issue of "Forward" published by Bai Mansion. In this way, the news of the recent victory of our party and army was secretly spread throughout the prison, which greatly encouraged the comrades who persisted in their struggle in prison. Chen Ran also managed to get in touch with General Huang Xiansheng next door. General Huang promised to take advantage of the opportunity of breathing fresh air and shove the newspaper along the crack of the door to Chen Ran, who kept getting the latest news from the newspaper. Since then, the news of our army's successive victories has often appeared in the forward newspaper of Baigongguan. When the comrades were tortured by poison and illness, they felt full of strength after reading the advance report in prison.

Chen Ran is young, handsome and gentle, and looks like an intellectual. When the enemy arrested him, he seized the printed advance report on the spot, but it was too late to carry it away. The experienced spy thought that it was not difficult to punish the young man, pry his mouth open and make him tell the secret of the * * * production party. Who knows, Chen Ran this young * * * party member, and let the terminating agent down. In prison, Chen Ran suffered all kinds of torture, and always only admitted that he had done all the editing, printing and distribution of the "Forward"-he was determined to sacrifice himself, protect the organization and comrades in accordance with the prior agreement with his comrades, and be extremely loyal to the party.

The spies were eager to get information from Chen Ran, but found nothing, which frustrated Xu Yuanju, a military spy who wanted to crack the underground organization of Chongqing Municipal Committee as soon as possible. He decided to personally arraign Chen Ran. In his view, young scholars like Chen Ran are full of passion and have strong family values. As long as you use heavy money to lure and torture, you are not afraid of not confessing.

Xu Yuanju, a wily old fox, personally went to the cell where Chen Ran was held, ordered the spies to untie the instruments of torture on Chen Ran, stroked the scars on Chen Ran, and said with a sad look, "You are so young and talented, why are you so paranoid?" If you name names (publish an advance newspaper), you can not only leave here safely, but also get a lot of money, take your old mother to other places and do your son's duty to support his mother ... "

"I don't know what the list is. After editing and printing, I sent out the newspaper, but I have destroyed the list. " Chen Ran, as always, asked and answered without any flaws.

Fearless, Xu Yuanju not only came to Chen Ran's cell many times, but also invited Chen Ran to the office to "coax". But Chen Ran was unmoved.

Chen Ran once published an article about honesty, only 1000 words, but it was magnificent. In this article, he pointed out: "Integrity is the highest realm of personal cultivation and the final test." "Integrity is not based on emotion, but on a high degree of rationality."

"If I get caught, please rest assured." Chen Ran often said this to his comrades before he was arrested. As it turns out, it was Chen Rangan.

"People always have a personal desire for life and survival. Emotion tends to desire. When wealth shows off in front of you and the knife of crime is around your neck, your mood will become extremely fragile. At this time, only a high degree of rationality can bear the heavy responsibility of testing. " In On Honesty, Chen Ran once had such a statement. In the face of inhuman torture, Chen Ran can regain his freedom as long as he repents, but he flatly rejects such "freedom".

"Since you don't eat a toast, please have a good wine!" Xu Yuanju, the helpless spy chief, showed lost face's face and ordered Chen Ran to be tortured.

Chen Ran gritted his teeth and stuck to the party's secret. In the face of the enemy's torture, confession, intimidation, fraud and inducement, he never disclosed the distribution list of the advance newspaper. He insisted that he made all the newspapers in advance. Even if all kinds of torture and threats and inducements were exhausted, in the face of Chen Ran's refusal, the wheel-wheel war trial was finally deadlocked.

There was nothing the spies could do. Three days before the liberation of Chongqing, they killed Chen Ran and other revolutionaries.

A few days before his death, Chen Ran told his cellmate that he wanted to write a poem called "Without Me". He told his cellmate the contents of the poem sentence by sentence in passionate language. Later, my friend escaped from prison and compiled and published Chen Ran's posthumous poem, which was the first inspiring "My Confessions":

The heavy chain was ringing at his feet,

You can hold the whip high,

I don't need any confession,

Even if the chest is facing the bloody bayonet!

People can't lower their noble heads,

Only those who are afraid of death beg for "freedom";

What is torture?

Death can't make me talk!

I laugh at death,

The devil's palace swayed in laughter;

This is my confession of party member.

Sing a triumphant song and ruin the Chiang dynasty.

This song "My Confessions", originally composed by Chen Ran and later edited, shows the heroic spirit of party member, such as Chen Ran, who died generously, expresses their profound hatred for the Kuomintang reactionaries and their great contempt for shameless traitors, and shows the lofty integrity of revolutionaries who die.
