Ancient Chinese poetry can be roughly divided into two categories: one is called ancient style poetry (or "ancient style"). This name began in the Tang Dynasty. The Tang people called the newly emerged metrical poetry at that time modern style poetry, and called it modern style poetry. Poems produced before the Tang Dynasty with less metrical restrictions are called ancient style poems. Later generations followed the theory of the Tang Dynasty and collectively referred to the Yuefu folk songs and literati poems before the Tang Dynasty as well as the poems written by literati after the Tang Dynasty in imitation of its style as "archaic poetry". According to the number of words in a poem, there are four words (such as "The Book of Songs"), five words (such as the "Han Yuefu" poem), seven words (such as Cao Pi's "Yan Ge Xing"), miscellaneous words (such as Li Bai's "The Road to Shu is Difficult"), etc. . Ancient poetry rhymes more freely. The other type is called modern poetry (or "modern poetry"), which is a new poetry style that appeared in the Tang Dynasty. Judgment
1. The number of sentences in each ancient-style poem can be more or less; each modern-style poem has attributive sentences. It is stipulated that there are only four sentences in quatrains and only eight sentences in rhythmic poems. Arranging lawyer's sentences and above is a separate matter.
The number of characters in ancient poetry is variable, including four-character, five-character, six-character, seven-character, and miscellaneous characters. Modern-style poetry has fixed characters, and only five-character poems are popular. The two types of Qiyan and Qiyan cannot be added or deleted arbitrarily.
3. The rhyme used in ancient poetry is not strict. Its rhymes can be flat or oblique, and the rhymes can be changed in the middle. Modern poetry has strict rhyme, and generally rhymes with flat tones, one rhyme to the end, and no rhymes are allowed.
IV. Ancient-style poetry has extremely broad requirements for the rhyme and rhyme; modern poetry mostly has strict requirements for the rhyme and rhyme.
5. Antique poetry does not require antithesis; modern poetry requires antithesis in prescribed positions, except for quatrains.
New poetry refers to the poetry genre that was produced before and after the May 4th Movement, is different from classical poetry, and uses vernacular as its basic language method.
