In The Original Poem, Ye Xie also discussed the poetic method of poetry. Ye Xie divided the poetic method into "dead method" and "living method".
Ye Xie believes that "death method" means "positioning", which refers to the syntactic structure of poetry and the basic rules of poetry creation, such as temperament, the practice of metrical poems and quatrains, and the requirements of poetry antithesis or the beginning, inheritance, transformation and combination of each poem.
