Qin Yi Lu is the most important academic work of Qian Zhongshu, a famous contemporary scholar in his early years. In fact, Tan Yi Lu is a poetic theorist, but it does not involve the works of contemporary people. Anyone who has read Lu will feel that no matter how famous a poet is, he can find sentences in his own poems that no one else has.
Limited by space, I can't comment on the profundity of Qian Zhongshu's poetics one by one. I can only give one or two examples within my familiar range. For example, Li He has several articles in Tan Yi Lu, which shows that the author is famous in his poems. Because Du Fu's poems are full of ghosts and gods, he thinks that "if you don't take care of them, you can be slaves", which is often used as a debater's song by later generations. According to Zhang Youzhai's Diary, Liu's comments on Li Changji's poems, Hu Yinglin's Manuscripts, Shu Menglan's Gu Hua, etc., it is pointed out that "Yao, Chen and Zhang called Changji's poems wonderful because of its reason; Liu, Hu and Shu called Changji's poems wonderful because they were rational and didn't need to be solved. On the contrary, they all oppose Mu Zhi's theory of "ignoring reason". He first jumped out of the argument between rationality and irrationality and sought to deduce Chang Ji's poems from Du Mu's theory. Since all the great poets of his time thought the congratulatory poems were unreasonable, it reflected a vision of the Tang Dynasty. Through the investigation of his works, it is considered that "the speaker is less rational", that is, the evaluation of Chang Shi's so-called "not paying attention to rules and regulations" His analysis of more than 1000 words of Angry Gong will convince you of his point of view. Then he distinguished the so-called "talents" and "luxury talents" in Germany, and thought that long talents belonged to luxury talents, and he was deeply congratulated. If we only say this step, then Qian Zhongshu is not enough to think that Qian Zhongshu is a clever man. So, suddenly up and down, suddenly turning and breaking, suddenly coming back to life, refreshing, sad and bitter, like scattered pearls. The connection with Li Sao is illusory, but those who are full of affection and air are not strong. No, this is the sublimation of knowledgeable artistic accomplishment, the deep understanding of mutual appreciation of genius, and a feeling of unparalleled life realm! I know that every meal is full of your husband's poems, which are easily appreciated by rulers and literati. Su Dongpo's broad-mindedness and detachment are also easily praised by ordinary literati who seek spiritual transcendence in the depression of reality. However, Taibai and Hasegawa's resistance to the loneliness and despair of genius is difficult for most so-called scholars and poets in the world to understand or nod. I always see something detached in Qian Zhongshu's learning and lend him a book.
However, this realm can be respected, but it is difficult to achieve, because it is based on an extremely detached learning attitude. From the perspective of motivation, Qian Zhongshu may not want to be a professional classical literature researcher. Reading and thinking is his most enjoyable life experience. Therefore, knowledge is associated with a higher goal-the meaning of life. Playing with knowledge has become playing with life. It is this quiet pleasure that makes his knowledge go beyond the secular utilitarian purpose and enter a pure and profound realm. That's actually his field. So I often feel that I admire Qian Zhongshu being compared with learning. But it is only limited to admiration, and I didn't want to imitate him. Indeed, I can't. For Qian Zhongshu, who became a first-class researcher in his early forties, reading is a pleasure to satisfy life, and learning is not its natural result. So he can say that he only asks about cultivation and does not ask about harvest.
