Li Sao is an autobiographical lyric poem, which embodies the poet's political ideal and patriotic feelings, and artistically reproduces the poet's experience of participating in the political struggle in Chu and the complicated and tortuous process of inner contradictions. The whole poem, with 373 sentences and 2490 words, is magnificent in structure and colorful in imagination, representing the creative characteristics of Qu Yuan, and is the first masterpiece of China's ancient romantic poetry.
In other poems, Qu Yuan denounced traitors, satirized those traitors, expressed his concern for the country and the people, and placed infinite affection on the grass and trees of Chu.
Qu Yuan was an outstanding patriotic poet in ancient China. Qu Yuan wrote a large number of excellent poems with his life, sentiment and ambition, leaving valuable cultural wealth for China and the world. 1953, the World Peace Council decided to commemorate Qu Yuan as one of the four famous people in the world.
