Through thick and thin: There are no quiet years, but my heart is fearless.

I want to be ashamed. I have never read a few poems carefully since I graduated from high school. Those who once boasted that they also loved poetry have long abandoned the pastoral mind.

China is a country of poetry. Since the Book of Songs, China people have shown extraordinary talents in this kind of literature. How many excellent poems are there from the Book of Songs, to the ancient customs of Wei and Jin Dynasties, and then to the peak of poetry-Tang poetry?

In China, modern poetry doesn't seem to be paid as much attention as ancient poetry. People don't read modern poetry, and modern poetry seems to have entered a small circle of high and low. If you don't believe me, tell me about the modern poems you know. I'm afraid many people only know to bid farewell to Cambridge and thank the Chinese text in high school.

Of course, poetry is not unique to China. Besides all kinds of tragic comedies, Shakespeare wrote many sonnets. In our close neighbor Japan, there are also a large number of literati who can write poems. Besides poetry, they also wrote haiku. I think anyone who has seen Japanese and anime will be impressed by one of them, the God of Haiku. Matsuo Bashō, the god of haiku, is a funny character in the animation, but in the animation My Neighbor Yamada Jun made by Studio Ghibli, the haiku written by Bajiao is unforgettable.

Poetry has not been completely popular since the Book of Songs. On the contrary, it is people's feelings. Those really good poems all contain people's feelings. Most of the poems that people can remember coincide with some emotion in their hearts. For example, young people in Grade Two love Manjianghong and frontier poems, while young people in literature and art love Li Shangyin and Nalan Xingde.

A major misunderstanding about poetry is that what you don't understand is a good poem. So many people pursue writing poems that others can't understand. I used to like such poems, which were vague and ethereal, revealing a subtle feeling that bosom friends were hard to find. After a long time, I fell into a narcissism.

Later, a friend woke me up with a sentence, "These things are all the same." I was angry at first, but then I was surprised. Because after re-examining, I realized how stupid I was. Poetry written without any real feelings does not have long-term vitality. Watching too much is like smoking opium, just paralyzing yourself.

A good poem needs strength, which is from the inside out. A good poem should have emotion, and emotion should come from the soul. A good poem should have a future, and this future is eternal.

After such screening, Kenji Miyazawa's Brave Storm suddenly appeared in front of me. This poem is short and the words are simple. Kenji Miyazawa painted us a picture of the Peach Blossom Garden in concise language. He put his imagination and desire into it. This poem is quiet, but there is an inner strength in silence.

I read two books recently, the power of silence and the pain point of the times, silence. The busyness of modern society has been considered as a very normal thing. People also realize that such busyness makes us lose ourselves. Many people pay more attention to their own feelings, and sometimes they can't help falling into the narrow vision of "Every man for himself, and the devil takes the hindmost".

The Buddha is a Buddha because his vision is not from a personal point of view. Therefore, according to the Buddhist scriptures, the Buddha has great wisdom and compassion, so he also won the dzogchen. In front of picture books, Kenji Miyazawa is also a Buddhist. No wonder there is a universal sympathy and emotion in his poems.

This poem was written in 1930s, when the economic crisis from America swept the world. The whole world is shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere, and Japan is exposed to continuous rain and various natural disasters. Japan at that time was full of failures and setbacks. The works of this period will naturally give people a feeling of depression. However, from the poem "Riding the Wind and Breaking the Rain", we can see that Kenji Miyazawa is still full of love for life and life, which is heavy and comes from the poet's concern for the outside world. This is why this poem is still praised by people after so many years.

This poem also transcends that era, because every era will have its own problems, and the best way to deal with them is not to turn a blind eye, but to move forward bravely.

We are not great because of selfishness. Only by transcending our own narrowness can we see a broader world. Those poems that are not written for yourself can find more bosom friends from outside. Kenji Miyazawa used this poem to show us the thoughts and inner world of a great man.

After nearly a century, we should pay tribute to him.
