A Love Song of Praise —— A Shepherd's Song of an Indian Poet who Overcomes Heaven

In the history of literature, for various reasons, some literary works are often misinterpreted or misunderstood intentionally or unintentionally, thus covering up the true colors of the works. The Indian poet's Song of the Shepherd suffered such a fate.

Morita is called "the last ancient poet and the earliest modern poet" by Indian literary historians. After him, Sanskrit classical literature declined completely and was replaced by pious poems in the emerging dialect literature in the Middle Ages. Song of the Shepherd Boy is a masterpiece that won the sky.

The poem "The Shepherd's Song" is divided into twelve chapters, with a total of 264 sections. The poem describes the love between Heitian and Luotuo, and the plot is simple: Heitian flirts with many shepherdesses, causing the lover Luotuo to be jealous and the two separated; Because Luo Tuo's girlfriend mediated, Dark Sky admitted his mistake and the two made up. Although the dark sky in the poem is the incarnation of Vishnu, its performance in love is completely secular: in Sheng Tian's pen, he is an affectionate and romantic son. Many shepherds pursue him, and he likes to flirt with them, but Loto is his favorite. In order to quell the resentment of the lottery, he fell at the foot of the lottery and begged. Luotuo in the poem has no divinity at all. She fell madly in love with the darkness, so when she saw the darkness flirting with other shepherds, she became jealous and left the darkness; However, the body leaves, and the heart cannot leave. He finally couldn't stand the pain of lovesickness, so he had to let his girlfriend come forward to find the darkness. Although Song of the Shepherd Boy is based on myths and legends, the characters and contents in the work have lost the majesty of God.

In addition, the love in Song of the Shepherd is not pure love, but straightforward. The superb point of "Winning Heaven" is that such a simple subject matter can be written in ups and downs and colorful. Love, jealousy, separation, lovesickness, anger, intercession, reconciliation and lovesickness between lovers are vivid. Goethe, a great German poet, once commented on it: "To my surprise, an extremely simple theme is endless through extremely changeable colors."

Such an obvious love song, due to historical reasons, has become a so-called religious work and a hymn in Vishnu's heart.

After the publication of Song of the Shepherd, it coincided with the vigorous development of Vishnu's religious belief movement. This religious movement is reflected in literature, and a number of religious poets have appeared. They imitated the song of the shepherd boy who conquered the sky and formed a lyric poem called "Song Poetry". Vishnu believers put the victory over heaven on their list of "saints" and interpreted the "shepherd's song" according to Vishnu's teaching. They say that the love of camels and other shepherds for the dark sky symbolizes the desire of human souls for Vishnu, the great god. However, they can't explain the scene of falling at the foot of Lotta in the dark. This scene just shows that this long poem is not a religious poem in the late sense, and it does not have the strong religious personality unique to hymns in form and spirit.

Undoubtedly, Vishnu's interpretation of Song of the Shepherd Boy damaged and blurred his appreciation of the pure literariness of the work. To correctly evaluate this work, we must first peel off the coat of religion and restore its true colors.
