Who is the author of this poem?

Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662- 1722) believed in Christ. He passionately pursued the true faith of Christ. During the complicated state affairs, he not only used his time to study the Bible and spiritual books, but also often talked with foreign missionaries who traveled across the ocean. Because he was familiar with the Bible and the history of the church, he wrote many couplets and poems on the theme of the church before his death.

Ten Poems of Kangxi is one of them: "Ten rivers of blood flow from the west. In the middle of the night, I was in the middle of the night, and the apprentice sang it three times and twice. Five thousand whips, a few inches of leather, six feet hanging, two thieves together. It's a tragedy to move eight coughs and shake nine tastes and finish seven words. "Emperor Kangxi wrote this seven-character poem to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus.

"Ten frames of blood converge into one stream". God's great contribution to saving mankind was completed by the tragic crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. Bible Road 22: 44 describes the scene when Jesus prayed in Gethsemane Garden, saying: Jesus was in great pain and prayed more earnestly, and sweat dripped like blood on the ground. (Luke 22: 44), Jesus bore the burden of all mankind, drank the cup of sacrifice for us, and was framed to death by those he saved. At the time of suffering, Jesus wore a crown of thorns and nails on his hands and feet. Until Jesus died, the soldiers pierced Jesus' ribs with guns, and blood and water flowed out (about 19: 34). Jesus died of a broken heart and was killed by human sin. Literally, it seems a bit exaggerated. Actually, it's not an exaggeration. "The blood becomes a river, and the blood of the Lord Jesus flows for the sins of all mankind. Throughout the ages, from Jerusalem to the whole world, our sins need the precious blood of Jesus to be forgiven.

"A hundred feet of grace flows from the west" Because the Lord Jesus declared the Dagong's redemption success on the cross, God's unfathomable and incalculable grace continued to flow in all directions, filling the universe and every corner. From the center of the Jerusalem world to all the people in the world, including the people of China, we can also get salvation and eternal life through this. "From the west", from a geographical point of view. As far as we in China know, Christianity comes from the West.

"Walking in the Fourth Courtyard in the middle of the night" means that after Jesus was arrested, he was first escorted to Annapolis, "because Annapolis is the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest this year" (about 18: 13). But his inquiry was fruitless, so he sent Jesus to Caiaphas (about 18: 24). Caiaphas, the chief priests, scribes and civil officials had long wanted to kill Jesus (Luke 19: 47, 22: 2), but because they had no right to kill (about 18: 3 1), they sent Jesus to Pilate, the official's son (about/kloc-) In the middle of the night, Jesus was led like a sheep until he was slaughtered.

"One disciple has three backs and two chickens" is the fourth sentence of the poem. The disciples fled everywhere (Kyle Gospel 14: 50), but Peter secretly followed Jesus into the courtyard of Caiaphas, the high priest, to find out (26: 58). However, because he was "willing but unable" (Kyle Gospel 14: 38), he only cast spells one after another under the inquiry of several servant girls. (it can be 14: 66-72). ,

The fifth sentence is "five thousand whips". Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent (about 19: 12), but he was afraid of being threatened by the Jews: "If you release this man, you will not be Caesar's loyal minister." (About 19: 12) Afraid of losing their jobs, they tried to please the people with flogging (Road 23: 13- 16).

According to legend, in Pilate's yamen, Jesus was flogged more than 5,000 times, and his whole body was covered with wounds and tears, bleeding profusely and in great pain. According to historical research, the Roman whip at that time was multi-headed, and each leather flying head was embedded with some lead pills and bone spurs. Under the whip, a few flies fell, and the flesh and blood were flying, which was unbearable. So the description here is not excessive.

The sixth sentence "six feet hanging two thieves together". After Jesus was crucified, the soldiers put up shelves and lifted Jesus' body more than six feet off the ground, which attracted attention. There were two heinous robbers crucified with Jesus, one on the left and the other on the right. The evil people planned it carefully and deliberately. In order to humiliate Jesus, they put him between thieves and robbers, tied him with gangsters, and made the wicked people watching and laughing. The left thief who was crucified with Jesus even spoke evil words and insulted Jesus (Matthew. 27: 34-44 road 23: 39). However, the robber on the right accepted the Lord.

The last two lines of the poem are "It's terrible to move eight things" and "It's amazing to cry seven words". The crucifixion of Jesus shocked officials and people in all directions (Ke 15: 39). When Bai Chang, who was standing opposite, saw Jesus shouting like this, he said, "This man is really the son of God!" " (about 19: 39) Nicodemus, who went to see Jesus the night before, came with myrrh and aloes. Jesus was hanged on the cross and said seven words before and after. First of all, pray for those who nailed him and ask the father for forgiveness: "Father, forgive them!"! Because they have, they don't know. " (Luke 22: 34) Secondly, he pitied and comforted the righteous thief: "I tell you the truth, you will be with me in paradise today." (Luke 23: 43) Third, in front of the dear disciple John, he said to Mary who gave birth to him, "Woman, look at your son!" ; He said to John, "Look at your mother!" (about 19: 26, 27). Fourth, cry to the father: "My God, my God! Why did you abandon me? " (Mt.27: 46, but 15: 34). Fifth, I long for mankind to return to the father: "Father, I give my soul into your hands!" " (Luke 23: 46). Sixth, recite the words in the scripture: "I am thirsty." (about 19: 28). Seventh, it is to announce the success of saving the Grand Duke to mankind. "Done" (about 19: 30)! When Jesus finished his seven words, he bowed his head and swallowed his last breath. At that time, there was a scene in the sky: the sun lost its light, the earth shook, the rocks cracked, the tomb opened itself, and the curtain in the temple split in two from top to bottom. Sleeping saints also came out of the graves and entered the holy city, appearing to many people (Matthew. 27: 53, Luke 23: 44-45). Whether there is a spirit or not, it is extremely sad, which proves that the Lord Jesus is indeed the son of God the Father.
