I believe that no matter what kind of person he is, he will never forget the memories that his childhood gave him. No matter whether this memory is beautiful for him or not, it will never be forgotten. Because this kind of memory has already been deeply implanted in his memory. Therefore, in my spare time, I read Childhood, one of Gorky's autobiographical trilogy. The following are some feelings and inspirations from my study days.
The book "Childhood" explains the word "darkness" well. It describes the dark society under the rule of the tsar at that time and the world where people are linked by all kinds of hatred from the eyes of the children of the protagonist Alexei. In this world, people are greedy, selfish and even desperate for benefits. But as the saying goes, "Where there is oppression, there is resistance, and where there is darkness, there is light." There are also some noble people in this world, such as the apprentice Ganci, a scientist. They all have their own principles, so that they are excluded from the circle of' darkness' and become a part of' light'. But their fate is tragic after all. Who is to blame? What is ultimately wrong is always this distorted society where human nature disappears.
One of the characters that impressed me deeply in this book is the grandmother of the protagonist Alexei. She seems to exist as a kind of' light' and is responsible for fighting grandpa's evil forces. So in the protagonist's eyes, she seems to be sent by God to save Grandpa's family. It was she who saved me from the darkness and instilled bright thoughts in me. It can be said that without her, "I" would probably become a member of "darkness" and an ordinary walking corpse. Therefore, I think grandma's personality determines Alexei's life direction. Without her, Alexei's fate would be the same as grandpa's.
On one occasion, little Alexei took a Gaby from home in order to buy books. To some extent, he is a good boy who loves reading. But in such a dark society at that time, these were not allowed. So, for this reason, he was beaten by his grandfather, but this is not to kill the child's interest. What is it? Alexei is still a filial child. In the days when he lived alone with his grandmother, he tried his best to make money. One kopeck, two kopecks … all condensed his sweat! But his efforts were not in vain. When he handed his hard-earned money to his grandmother, a crystal tear fell in her muddy eyes, which was her greatest affirmation to him.
To some extent, in fact, in such a dark society at that time, the hero Alexei had a happy childhood. At least he survived and avoided death. Although his father is gone, he still has his mother and grandmother. Not only will he not be helpless, but he also need not worry about three meals a day. What about us now? Compared with the dark society where Alexei lived at that time, our present society is even worse. Don't worry about losing your wife and family at any time. It's so much better. In such a peaceful society without smoke, isn't it easier for us to exert our fists and feet and work hard for the development of the motherland? Shouldn't we work harder? Moreover, almost all of us grew up in the hands of our parents, and we have never suffered anything or been tired. Some parents have been suffering since childhood and are used to it, so we have long been used to their considerate care, and we will not think of cherishing it, let alone being grateful. We always take everything we have for granted. But this is not the case. A good life will last only if you pay, and you will get it only if you work hard. For these, we should be inspired by the book Childhood.
