Because acid rain is formed by burning coal, it can strongly corrode buildings, acidify soil and water, lead to reduced grain production and death of plants, fish and shrimp. According to calculation, the annual economic losses caused by acid rain in southwest and south China alone amount to 654.38+0.4 billion yuan.
(4) Saving electricity can slow down global warming. Because of the large amount of carbon dioxide emitted by coal burning, it blocks the heat from the ground to the outside of the sky like a cover, which has produced the greenhouse effect. If the earth's temperature rises, it will cause drought or flood and melt icebergs. If all the icebergs on the earth melt, countries and islands with lower altitudes will disappear.
