Yuefu Poems is a collection of Yuefu poems compiled by Guo Maoqian, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, from ancient times to the Tang and Five Dynasties. Written in the Northern Song Dynasty. This book has 100 volumes, mainly composed of Yuefu poems in the Han, Wei and Tang Dynasties. According to the different nature of music, the collected works can be divided into twelve categories: Jiao Miao Song, She Yan Song, Xuan Dao Song, Heng Feng Song, Xianghe Song, Qing Shang Song, Dance Song, Qin Ge, Za Song, Modern Style Song, Za Song and Xinle Fu Song.
Each category has a general order, each song has a solution, and the origin, nature and vocal orchestration of the music are explained in detail. It also preserves the contents of many lost works.
Yuefu Poetry Collection is the most complete collection of Yuefu songs in China, which summarizes the ancient Chinese Yuefu songs after the Book of Songs. It is valued by academic circles for solving problems, attracting massive information and assisting detailed examination, and has important reference value for the study of literary history and music history.
Under this 12 category, there are several subclasses. For example, Hengchui Ci can be divided into two categories: Han Hengchui Ci and Jiao Hengchui Ci. Xianghe lyrics are divided into six quotations, namely Xianghe Qu, Yintan Qu, Pingdiao Qu, Qingdiao Qu, Hudiao Qu, Chudiao Qu and Daqu. Shang Qing's lyrics are divided into five songs and western songs.
