What does opera mean?
Opera is a kind of drama form which combines drama, poetry, music, dance, art and other artistic elements, and mainly focuses on singing. It usually consists of aria, recitation, duet, chorus, overture, interlude and dance scenes. Modern western opera came into being in Italy during the Renaissance in 16 and 17 centuries, and then gradually became popular all over the world. China's operas formed since the Song and Yuan Dynasties also belong to the category of operas. After the May 4th Movement, musicals appeared. After the Yan 'an Forum on Literature and Art, China national opera took White-haired Girl as its modeling symbol, and created China national opera on the basis of folk music and drama, drawing lessons from western drama.
