Ye Zhi is the representative of what school?

As a master of symbolism poetry, Ye Zhi constructed a complete personal fable system. It can be said that without him, the whole western modern poetry and even modernism would probably not present today's state. Walking into the dreamy and gorgeous world of Ye Zhi's poetry, it seems that we can't feel the difference of age and times, but we can really touch the poet's nature of advocating freedom and pursuing truth, as well as his magnificent and beautiful sentiment. What color is heaven? Not pure white, not delicate and innocent powder, not passionate red, not deep and melancholy blue. In Ye Zhi, a world full of gentle light, what we see is gray, the gray washed away by ruthless years, and the color of the truth that the poet pursues all his life. The poet's pursuit of truth is almost perfect, and his conscious transcendence of life experience is as touching and powerful as that of Confucius, an ancient sage in China, and Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet, who said, "It's a long way to go, and I will go up and down to seek".

There are two things in Ye Zhi's poems, one is the Irish national liberation movement, and the other is his personal mysticism system. The former adds heroism to his poems, while the latter is a castle built by Ye Zhi himself. On this basis, he absorbed everything and melted everything with his unparalleled poems. Ye Zhi's early poems were deeply influenced by aestheticism and symbolism, with beautiful writing: hazy, sweet and slightly melancholy, full of beautiful rhetoric, romantic fantasy combined with rational thinking, full of musical beauty and Irish local color. However, he soon learned to write realistically and tenaciously, and at the same time, he kept many beautiful things, combining the philosophy of life with his personal feelings. His poems are rich in language meaning and have a complete theme as a whole; It is not only clear as words, but also higher than ordinary vernacular, penetrating and profound.

Ye Zhi has been trying hard to deny himself, striving to surpass his own experience in a real sense, so that his poems can swim in the torrent of time and the long river of history, grasp the relationship between art, language and life and time more skillfully, and integrate individuals with history, art and politics, passion and irony, faith and wisdom. His poems melt the delicate youth like flowers, endless love and even sad and wordless death into the realm of myth and magic. These hazy images travel through ancient and modern times, staring at each other in the same time and space background, staring at truth and freedom, and also staring at the vicissitudes of time. He even said, "Our most exquisite thoughts, intentions and emotions often don't really belong to us. They seem to suddenly appear from hell or float down from heaven. " But heaviness is not the whole of Ye Zhi's poetry. It should be said that his poems have a strong spirit of humanistic care. "When you are old" is "feeling warm and slow, like cello music floating out of a stove"; Bai Niao on the waves is bright, cheerful and tearful, just like the beautiful bagpipes on the Irish green grassland, softening every cell of the body.

Ye Zhi is a tug-of-war with eternity. It is said that he is an extremely rare poet in western poetry who is loyal to art until he dies of old age. 48 hours before his death, he was still busy proofreading several undecided manuscripts. The poet's life-long creation has experienced a gradual process, from romance and symbolism to nature and reality, from aestheticism and floweriness to conciseness, which is also a process in which he constantly enriches and abstracts his own feelings. When Ye Zhi won the Nobel Prize, there was a passage in the motion to congratulate him put forward by the Irish House of Lords: "Our civilization will be famous for Senator Ye Zhi's masterpiece ... from destructive fanaticism to humane justice, this is the value of Ye Zhi literature ..." Few poets know the interdependence between spirit and body as clearly as Ye Zhi. The small island in the middle of the lake, Cole Manor, ancient and mysterious Byzantium, and even the Black Tower in Barrerie where he finally lived, all these places lingering in Yeats's dreams and poems are the illusion of "paradise on earth" that he pursues, and also the quiet place that he can find without being disturbed by secularity, desire and pain. When hopeless love becomes more hopeless, even desperate, the poet's romanticism has a layer of realism blade. In the poet's mind, illusion is just a wing of poetry. Struggle in reality, spiritual baptism, desperate love and the resulting sadness are the other wings of poetry.
