The best time to travel to Ailao Mountain

Ailao Mountain is suitable for all seasons (best in summer from July to October).

Ailao Mountain Nature Reserve is located at the junction of Xinping County and five counties including Jingdong, Zhenyuan, Chuxiong and Shuangbai, with an altitude of 2080-3166 meters. The mountains are majestic and majestic with clouds and mist. The plant distribution is complex and there are many ancient and precious plant species. The forest coverage rate reaches 85%, and the Zhongshan wet evergreen broad-leaved forest area accounts for 66.3% of the protected area. It is a rare Zhongshan wet evergreen broad-leaved forest area in Yunnan and even China.

The Ailaoshan Nature Reserve aims to protect the subtropical mid-mountain wet evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem and precious wild animals such as black gibbons, green peacocks, and gray langurs. It also has unique geology, atmosphere, Hydrological landscape, the main attractions include Nan'en Falls, Damoyan Peak, Daxueguo Mountain, International Migratory Bird Migration Sanctuary - Daque Mountain, Big (Little) Mao'er Mountain and other natural landscapes.

1. Bus route:

Take a direct bus to Gasa in Kunming, and then charter a bus up the mountain.

2. Self-driving route:

Chuxiong City → Lucheng North Road → Weichu Avenue → Hangrui Expressway → Longping South Road → Longquan Road → Wenming Road → Nanda Line → Duoxi Line → Shuimi Line → Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve.
