Whole poem:
The foot of my bed is shining so brightly. Is there frost already?
I looked up at the moon and looked down, feeling nostalgic.
Translation:
The bright moonlight sprinkled on enough paper, as if the ground was frosted. I couldn't help looking up at the bright moon in the sky outside the window that day, and I couldn't help but bow my head and think of my hometown in the distance.
About the author:
Li Bai (70 1 ~ 762), whose name is Taibai, is a violet layman. His ancestral home was in Ji Cheng, Longxi (now southwest of Jingning, Gansu), and his ancestors broke leaves at the end of Sui Dynasty (now near tokmak, northern Kyrgyzstan). When I was a child, I moved to Qinglian Township, Changlong County, Mianzhou (now Jiangyou, Sichuan) with my father. At the age of twenty-five, he left his relatives to travel far away and went out of Shu with his sword. He was Wang Yong's chief of staff during the An Shi Rebellion. Because he was defeated in Xunyang prison, he was exiled to Yelang, but he was pardoned halfway. In his later years, he went to his uncle Dangtu to make Li, then died in Dangtu and was buried in Longshan. In the 12th year of Tang and Yuan Dynasties, the observation of Xuanzang Pool made Fan move the tomb to Qingshan according to Li Bai's last wish of "aiming at Qingshan" before his death. He is the most unique and greatest romantic poet after Qu Yuan. He has the reputation of "poetic immortal" and is also called "Du Li" with Du Fu. His poems are mainly lyrical, showing the arrogant spirit of contempt for powerful people, expressing sympathy for people's sufferings, being good at depicting natural scenery and expressing his love for the mountains and rivers of the motherland. The poetic style is magnificent and bold, the imagination is rich, the language flows naturally, the melody is harmonious and changeable, and it is good at absorbing nutrients and materials from folk literature and myths and legends, which constitutes its unique magnificent and gorgeous color and reaches the peak of poetic art in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. There are more than 1000 poems, including 30 volumes of Li Taibai's Collection.
