Does anyone recommend English classical love poems, which are more subtle? Thank you.

When a lamp is broken

Shelley (UK)

1

When a lamp is broken,

its light is extinguished by dust;

when the sky clears,

the brilliance of the rainbow disappears immediately.

If the pipa breaks its string,

the beautiful music will be silent;

if you finish your words,

the charm of love will soon be forgotten.

2

Like music and bright light,

the pipa and the lamp must coexist,

the soul can't play singing

If the spirit is depressed:

There is no song, just mourning,

Like the wind blowing through a corner of the wasteland,

Like the wailing waves

Ring the death knell for the dead sailors.

3

Once two hearts are combined,

love leaves the delicate nest,

and the weaker one

will suffer from what it once had.

oh, love! You are lamenting

the impermanence of the world. Why

do you want to find the weakest soul

as your cradle, bedroom and coffin?

4

It overturns you with enthusiasm,

It shakes the flying crow like a storm;

reason will laugh at you,

like the sun in the winter sky.

The rafters in your nest

will rot, and when the cold wind blows,

the leaves will fall, and your beautiful house

will expose you to ridicule

chanting a withered violet

-

This flower has lost its fragrance,

it has breathed for me like your kiss;

That bright color has faded, too.

You are no longer shining, only you!

Second,

a withered and dead body,

left vacant on my desolate chest,

it tortured this still-fiery heart with a cold and silent rest

.

three

I cried, and tears won't bring it back to life!

I sigh, and no fragrance pounces on me!

Alas, this silent and uncomplaining fate

is its own, but it suits me best.
