"Summer Quatrains" Li Qingzhao of the Song Dynasty
He was born as a hero, and died as a ghost.
I still miss Xiang Yu and refuse to cross Jiangdong.
This poem does not have any advanced vocabulary or magnificent images, but it can become an eternal classic. The connotation contained in it is evident. The first two sentences are like clouds breaking through the sky, falling from the sky with great momentum. However, a frail woman can explain the attitude of life so wonderfully with heroic feelings, and her courage to see through life and death is unparalleled!
The last two sentences are about Xiang Yu. The word "si" not only points out the reason why Xiang Yu refuses to cross Jiangdong, but also expresses Li Qingzhao's admiration for Xiang Yu's heroic spirit. The allusion contained in these two sentences is that Xiang Yu committed suicide in Wujiang River. This is also an allusion that most people can see.
In fact, the other two allusions are included in "Live as a hero, die as a ghost", they are "human hero" and "ghost hero" respectively. Renjie means a hero among men, which is the honorific title given by Liu Bang, the founder of the Han Dynasty, to Xiao He, Zhang Liang, Han Xin and others; Guixiong is a quote from Qu Yuan's "National Sorrow", which said: "When the body dies, the spirit comes from the spirit, and the soul of the child is the ghost hero." "
Li Qingzhao uses three allusions in this poem, and his purpose is to use the past to satirize the present.
At that time, the Northern Song Dynasty was overthrown, the Huiqin and Hui clans were captured by the Northern Kingdom, and the Southern Song Dynasty was in a corner. How could we not feel sad and angry when the country hated the family and worried about it? Li Qingzhao uses heroes, ghosts and Xiang Yu who committed suicide as examples to satirize the weakness and lack of integrity in the Southern Song Dynasty. His emotions are sonorous and his language is powerful and speaks straight to the spine!
