Evaluation of South Pacific Island Countries
Nauru, the smallest country in the South Pacific, was once the richest of these island countries. Although the economic and financial situation of the country was relatively difficult in the 2nd/Kloc-0th century and it was heavily dependent on foreign aid, it still had relatively rich phosphate resources and fishery resources. In Nauru's exclusive economic zone of 200 nautical miles, the annual potential catch of tuna is about 40,000 tons.
