How to Cultivate the Oral Communication Ability of Secondary Vocational School Students

In the rapidly changing modern society, communication has become the most basic and frequent social practice. Through communication, people can integrate into the society, accept multi-directional information and realize personal value. Oral communication is an indispensable link in communication. In order to meet the needs of social development, our vocational education should take cultivating students' oral communication ability as an important part of Chinese teaching, so that students can master the basic skills of oral communication and develop good oral communication habits. The focus of vocational education is to cultivate talents' skills and skills, while oral communication is to cultivate people's life skills. The future society is a cooperative society, and cooperation is inseparable from the exchange of thoughts and emotions, and oral communication is the most basic and commonly used way of communication. Therefore, cultivating students' oral communication ability is the requirement of social development and the need of students' lifelong development. I will talk about it in combination with my own teaching practice. First, create a good atmosphere, overcome fear, and cultivate the courage to "dare to speak and communicate". Vocational school students have narrow knowledge and are at a sensitive age. Many students can't see the outside world clearly, so they open their mouths and say what they want to say. They are flustered, short of breath and too nervous when they speak in public ... But they are still sixteen or seventeen years old, lively and eager to express themselves, which is the same feature of their new school. The cultivation of self-confidence is an important part of oral communication training. To this end, I told students in the first class that entering a vocational school is a brand-new beginning for every student. As long as we dare to participate and actively participate, you will be half successful. So, I started oral training from the simplest self-introduction. I asked my classmates: it is normal to speak badly, and the teacher will never criticize; Listen carefully, don't laugh; When one person finished speaking, the whole class applauded. This creates a relaxed environment for "speaking" and students' psychology is better adjusted. In teaching, I use the first five minutes of each class to let students speak freely on the stage, without requiring concentrated content and clear topics, as long as they can come up and say what they want clearly. Because my purpose is to familiarize students with the platform environment, exercise the courage to speak in front of everyone, and let them dare to speak and communicate. Second, broaden the observation horizon, find the topic of the speech, cultivate the habit of "being willing to talk and communicate" 1, use the teaching materials flexibly, and train students' oral communication ability. Teachers should dig deep into the contents of teaching materials and create various conditions to arrange teaching. For example, when teaching the scenery of Tianshan Mountains, teachers can arrange for students to read through the text first, and then imagine and describe four beautiful pictures in their own words. Teachers can organize poetry reading contest, speech contest, debate contest and other activities after learning poetry, speech, argumentation and other units. In addition, after each unit training, there is an oral practice question. Teachers can appropriately choose this practice question as the topic of students' oral communication training, or they can carefully set the situation to arrange training. 2, look at life, look at society, broaden the topic of communication. We let students observe the new things happening in school, society and family, listen to and watch radio and TV news, look for anecdotes at home and abroad in newspapers and magazines, and introduce them to classmates through sorting. They observe life with their own eyes and tell life in their own language, and both the speaker and the listener can maintain high interest. In this way, the training of "speaking" is linked to the whole society, which broadens the field of observation and integrates the small classroom of "speaking" into the big classroom of society. At this training stage, students' enthusiasm is unprecedentedly improved. As far as the requirements are concerned, the difficulty is much higher than before, but I am willing to make more efforts because I am interested. In order to "speak" well, many students not only carefully organize the observed materials, but also rehearse at home. In class, students rush to the podium and train for five minutes at a time. Students always feel that time passes too fast and ask for an extension of time, which makes them feel uncomfortable because they really want to talk. Third, teach speaking methods and communication skills, and cultivate the ability of "speaking and communicating". Secondly, I strengthened my speaking skills in teaching and told students to pay attention to the following points in communication: (1) Language fluency. Language fluency is an essential link in normal language communication. When you speak, you should try to avoid unnecessary pauses, eliminate spoken English, and make the language smooth and tidy. The most effective way is to let students read the text repeatedly. So I use ten minutes before the first class every morning and afternoon to urge students to read American English and consolidate their good language habits. (2) the authenticity of feelings. The object of language communication is living people, so the expression of emotion must be from the heart to be accepted by people. I ask students to pay attention to the expression of true feelings in language expression, and keep their eyes on each other when communicating. (3) Rational use of body language. Many times, we feel that we can't finish talking, which requires us to use body language to assist in expression. Body language such as eyes, gestures and expressions can sometimes express ideas more accurately than spoken language. But these means must be well grasped, otherwise it will go too far. In a word, oral communication ability is the need of students' study and life, and also the requirement of society for future talents. Combining with students' study and life practice, exploring the source of living water extensively and activating oral communication will certainly provide students with opportunities for development and leap again and again. As the basic language quality of cultivating talents in the future society, Chinese teaching in secondary vocational schools should focus on cultivating students' oral communication ability. In teaching, we should give full play to the leading role of teachers and the main role of students, give students enough time and space and exercise more, so that students can master the basic skills of oral communication and develop good oral communication habits.
