It is clearly Meng Haoran's most modest poem, but why did it offend the king and ruin his future?

This poem is Meng Haoran's "Returning to Zhongnanshan at the End of the Year", so I tossed and turned, and the night sky was empty. These two sentences have the feeling that he dare not give up the throne to the emperor, but he will go back to the shabby hut in Nanshan. In three or four sentences, I was exiled by the wise ruler because of my mistake. I have been ill for so long and I have not seen a friend. I don't think I have been to the imperial court, mainly because I don't have enough talent, not because I think the emperor has no eye for people. He tried to impress the emperor in this way, but the emperor mistakenly thought that he could not appoint anyone, so he was furious.

There are many poets in the Tang Dynasty, and Meng Haoran can be said to be an author who loves to write pastoral poems. On poetic talent, it is one of them that can make Li Bai admire Meng Haoran Li Bai also wrote a poem specially for Meng Haoran, in which he wrote: "Gaoshan, how I long to reach you, this is just an elegant way."

Meng Haoran has preserved more than 200 poems so far. Although the number is not too much, they are of high quality, and each poem can be regarded as a masterpiece, and Chunxiao, which has been passed down through the ages, is his masterpiece. However, ancient people all had the ideal of being an official. Li Bai was once appointed as the imperial historian of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and Du Fu was also an official of Liu Yuxi, Han Yu and Liu Yuanzhong. Meng Haoran especially hoped that he could be an official.

At that time, Zhang said that he was a bachelor of Jixian Temple and was highly valued. After reading Meng Haoran's poems, he said that he was a rare talent. He not only invited him to talk in your house by candlelight, but also recommended Meng Haoran to Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty. So Tang Xuanzong asked Meng Haoran to write poems for him. Meng Haoran felt that this poem "Going to Zhongnanshan at the end of the year" was very modest, and Tang Xuanzong was furious after hearing it.
