English children's poetry

I Think I Can

I think I can

If you think you are beaten, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don't;

If you want to win but think you can't;

It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost;

For out of the world we find

Success begins with a fellow's will;

It's all in a state of mind.

Life's Battles Don't Always Go

To the stronger and Fasterman,

But sooner or later the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.

If you think you are defeated, you will be defeated.

If you think you dare not, then you will shrink back.

if you want to win but think you can't;

then there is no doubt that you will lose.

if you think you have lost, you have lost;

Because we find that

success in the world begins with a person's will;

success is a state of mind.

In the battle of life,

victory doesn't always belong to stronger and faster people,

the winner is the one who

thinks he can do it.
