Cultural Center
In the early Republic of China, a public education center was established in Fengtai County. In July of the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947), it was renamed Fengtai County Cultural Service Society. In 1949, the Fengtai County People's Cultural Center was established. It is located in the middle section of Shunhe Street, Chengguan, with 17 bungalows and a 2,000-square-meter courtyard. In 1950, it was changed to Fengtai County Cultural Center with a permanent staff of 6 people. In 1956, the library established two departments: literature and art and publicity, as well as a creative group, library, and accounting office, which were affiliated to the County Culture and Education Bureau. In April 1969, it was renamed "Fengtai County Mao Zedong Thought Propaganda Station" and in September of that year it was renamed Fengtai County Cultural Center. In 1980, a new cultural center building was built in the middle section of Chenghe Road, with 4 floors and 1,472 square meters. The entire library moved into the building that year and opened 10 activity rooms including television, exhibition, music, art, books, photography, rehearsal, entertainment, technology, and reading. At the same time, a row of 40 square meters of lighting publicity galleries was built downstairs facing the street. In 1985, the cultural center established four units: political secretarial unit, cultural unit, library unit, and mass cultural unit, with 39 cadres and employees.
Cultural Stations
In 1951, three private cultural stations were established in Kantuan, Guqiao and Guiji, with one full-time staff member at each station. In 1952, Guiji was converted into a public station. From 1953 to 1955, three more cultural stations were developed: Zhangji, Gugou and Madian, each with one cadre. In 1956, due to zoning changes, the county's six cultural stations were merged into two cultural branches, Kantuan and Gugou. In 1958, the branch library was cancelled, and the original six cultural stations were restored. In 1979, there were 16 rural cultural stations (including 4 public stations and 12 private stations), with 4 full-time cadres and 13 semi-full-time cadres. In 1983, 10 people from private stations were transferred to state cadres. At the beginning of 1984, the number of cultural stations in the county increased to 31, and 8 cultural stations in Chengguan, Maoji, Dingji, Guqiao, Dashan, Madian, Guiji and Zhangji were converted into cultural branches. The director of the branch library leads the business work of the cultural station within his jurisdiction. In 1985, there were 32 cultural branch libraries and cultural stations in the county, which basically reached the point where there are stations in every township. Gudui Temple Ancient Village Ruins
It is located in Gudui Temple, Limin Village, Madian Township, 85 meters away from the Gang River in the south and 9 meters away from Yunliang Valley in the north. It belongs to the Neolithic Age to the Western Zhou Dynasty. The ruins are a high platform with an area of ??38 square meters and a height of 4 meters. It was seriously damaged. A large number of antlers, stag feet, etc. were unearthed.
Zhaojia Gudui
It is located in Lixin Village, Xiaji Town, 2 miles south of Xiaji. It is a relic of the Tang Dynasty. The isolated pile is 7 meters above the ground, 70 meters long from east to west, and 55 meters long from north to south. It has been stolen in the early years. A bluestone bed was once unearthed, with a pattern of King Wen of Zhou and eight horses engraved on the bed.
Chenji Gudui
It is located in Chenji Village, Xiaji Town. The era is unknown. It is 70 meters long from east to west, 60 meters long from north to south, and about 6 meters high. The surface is covered with bricks, tiles and clam shells.
Liwei Gudui
It is located in Liwei Village, Yangcun Township, 100 meters west of the Gang River. The era is unknown. It is 98 meters long from north to south, 32 meters long from east to west, and 3 meters high. Some of the tomb bricks have been exposed. It is said that they were stolen before liberation.
Sun Shuao's Tomb
It is located in Liang'an Village, Maoji Town, 120 meters north of Fengying Highway. Era and Warring States Period (Chu). In 1952, it was excavated by local people, and stone tomb doors, pottery, etc. were unearthed. It has now been razed to the ground. Tomb bricks, pottery fragments, etc. were collected on the surface.
Xie Ying Tomb
It is located in Xie Ying Village, Liuji Township, 40 meters south of the Huaihe River. Era Western Han Dynasty. In December 1982, it was cleaned up by the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and 2 Corded pottery pots were unearthed.
Gushan Tomb
It is located 3 miles southeast of Liuji Township, on the sunny side of Gushan Mountain, 35 meters east of the Feihe River Embankment. Era Eastern Han Dynasty. In 1984, farmers dug into the mountain and discovered it, and more than 40 cultural relics were unearthed by the Provincial Cultural Relics Institute.
