These Things Shall Never Die
--Charles Dickens/Charles Dickens
The pure.the bright,the beautiful, all the pure, brilliant, beautiful ,
That stirred our hearts in youth,
The impulses to wordless prayer, motivating us to pray without words,< /p>
The dreams of love and truth; that make us dream of love and truth;
The longing after something's lost, cherishing it after losing it,
The spirit's yearning cry, the soul crying deeply,
The striving after better hopes- striving for better dreams-
These things can never die. These beauties never fade away.
The timid hand stretched forth to aid,
A brother in his need,
A kindly word in grief's dark hour A kind word in grief and difficulty
That proves a friend indeed; is enough to prove a friend's sincerity;
The plea for mercy softly breathed , softly begging for mercy,
When justice threatens nigh, The sorrow of a contrite heart-
These things shall never die.
Let nothing pass for every hand to convey warmth to the world
Must find some work to do; do your best;
Lose not a chance to waken love- Don’t miss the opportunity to waken love-----
Be firm, and just, and true; Be firm, upright, and loyal;
So shall a light that cannot fade Beam on thee from on high.
And angel voices say to thee---You will hear the voices of angels saying-----
These things shall never die.

Why every time I read these people’s poems, I always see the inner influence of Christian thought~~~ But this poem is not bad, The feeling of reading English directly is completely different from that of Chinese.
That stirred our hearts in youth, strongly shocked our young hearts,
The impulses to wordless prayer, pushing us forward to pray silent prayers,
The dreams of love and truth; to make us dream of love and truth;
The longing after something's lost, to cherish something after its loss
The spirit's yearning cry, The spirit's yearning cry,
The striving after better hopes-
< p>These things can never die.The timid hand stretched forth to aid shyly extending a helping hand,
Continuously starting with The + noun, giving people a sense of language momentum, and gradually Sublimated feelings, These things shall never die are constantly interspersed and repeated to reproduce the theme...
