The Significance of Bible Psalm 12 1

This poem promises that whether the sun shines during the day or the moon shines at night, God can protect his people from disaster.

"I looked up at the mountain. Where did my help come from? My help comes from the creator of heaven and earth. He will never let you slip and fall, and your guardian will never take a nap. ? Look! Those who defend Israel don't sleep or sleep. The Lord protects you, and the Lord protects you at your right hand. The sun shines high during the day and will not be injured; The moon is in the sky at night, and you won't get hurt. The Lord will protect you from any harm, and he will protect your life. The Lord will protect you in everything you do from now on and forever. (Psalm 12 1)

Section 65438 +0-2 The mountain the author looks up to is not an ordinary mountain. At the time of writing this poem, the temple of the Lord is in the city of Jerusalem, which symbolizes the residence of the Lord and stands in the mountains of Judah. (Psalm 135:2 1) Therefore, he probably looked up to the mountain where the temple of the Lord was located and relied on the help of the Lord with confidence. Why can he be sure that God will help him? Because the Lord is "the creator of heaven and earth". The author of the poem is equivalent to saying, "The Almighty Creator wants to help me. What can stop him?" (Isaiah 40:26)

Verses 3-4 God will never let those who trust in him "shake" or fall. Even if the righteous fall down carelessly, God will not let them down. (Proverbs 24: 16) Why? Because the Lord is like an alert shepherd, always awake and watching. He always pays attention to the needs of his people, always guarding them, day and night, every minute counts, and never slackens.

Verses 5-6 In the Middle East, cool places can make people who travel far feel comfortable and protect them from the scorching sun. Similarly, the Lord is like a shady place, protecting his people from all kinds of disasters, like fire. Please note that the Bible says that the Lord will be on our "right hand". In ancient times, when soldiers fought, the right side was more vulnerable to the enemy's attack, because the shield was usually held in the left hand. However, if a loyal comrade-in-arms stood on his right, he would be much safer. The Lord is such a loyal friend, always guarding those who worship him and helping them at any time.

Verse 7-8: Will the Lord abandon his people? Never! It is worth noting that the poet changed from describing the present situation to expressing his belief in the future. Verse 5 says, "The Lord is watching you". These two verses say, "The Lord will protect you". Therefore, those who sincerely worship the Lord can be sure that they will be helped by the Lord in the future. No matter where they are, no matter what disaster comes, the Lord will be by their side and lend them a helping hand.

The author of the psalm 12 1 firmly believes that the Almighty Creator will always look after his servant, as gentle and careful as a shepherd and as alert and keen as a guardian. Since the Lord has never changed, we have reason to be as confident as poets. (Malachi 3:6) Does this mean that we will not be harmed at all? No. But as long as we rely on God's help, he will protect us from any spiritual harm.
