What are the works of Danish anti-fascist writers?
In the mid-1930s, fascism brought harm to Europe and awakened the Danish people. Many writers are firmly opposed to fascism. Hans Kiacs's novels The Fisherman (1928), Japanese Works (1936) and New Era (1939) are important works in Danish realistic literature. During this period, drama flourished. The main playwright is Kay Monk, whose works include Kanter (193 1), Ci (1932), Happiness of Oak (1940) and Before Kana (/kloc-0). He took part in the underground anti-German movement and was a spokesman for the resistance movement. He was killed by German occupation forces in 1944. Kyle Bell is also a progressive playwright. He opposed fascism and the German occupation forces. His major plays include Anna Sophia Herzweil (1939), Jude Law Pu (1940), Sirborg (1946) and Blue Poodle (1954). He is a director of the Danish-China Cultural Association, has visited China, and has also created the full-length work Mini Cowie III (1956). During the German occupation of Denmark, the young patriotic poet Modern Nelson wrote patriotic poems when he participated in the underground resistance movement. He died at the age of 22 during the German occupation in 1944.
