In 2008, he obtained a score of 21 in the HKCEE [9] and enrolled in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in acoustics. However, due to the increasing number of jobs after becoming popular, G.E.M. decided to abandon the acoustics course at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in the first half of 2009. [10] On October 16, 2008, G.E.M.'s first solo EP "G.E.M." was released. The album included 3 Cantonese songs and 2 Mandarin songs. Asia Tour) as a guest performer at the press conference[16]. Accent problem G.E.M.'s accent was once mistaken for that of an overseas singer. In fact, after she moved to Hong Kong, China from Shanghai, Hong Kong, China, was the place where she grew up. Her unique accent is due to the atrophy of the left jaw bone, which prevents the teeth of the upper and lower jaws from interlocking, causing leakage when speaking. It is not a shortened tongue tie commonly known as "frenulum". According to the doctor's advice, surgical correction is not suitable until the body stops growing at the age of 21. However, she said that due to the high risks of surgery and the fact that her condition has not worsened in recent years, she has decided not to undergo surgery for the time being.
