Awarded again from Lianzhou to Hengyang to reward Liu and Liuzhou as a farewell translation

He was awarded Lianzhou again and went to Hengyang to reward Liuzhou. The translation of Liuzhou's farewell is as follows.

Ten years after being demoted from the capital, the two of us were summoned to the capital at the same time, but were demoted to a remote place at the same time. After traveling thousands of miles together across the Xiang River, we had to part ways. Although I once again served as the governor of Lianzhou, I was completely different from the two Yingchuan governors of Huang Ba in the Western Han Dynasty. I even felt inferior to Liu Xiahui who was demoted three times.

The gaze that wanted to go back disappeared into the horizon along with the geese returning from the north. When my heart was full of sorrow, I heard the sad cry of the ape again. Liuzhou and Lianzhou are connected by the Guijiang River. Whenever the Guijiang River flows eastward under the mountains, you and I will stare at each other, lower our heads and recite "Thinking".

Writing background:

1. This poem by Liu Yuxi was written in the early summer of the tenth year of Yuanhe (815) by Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty. Ten years ago, he and his close friend Liu Zongyuan were demoted to Huxiangyuan County for participating in Wang Shuwen's reform activities.

2. I had just been summoned back to Chang'an in the first month of that year. It was only one month. I visited Xuandu and visited Xuandu, so I wrote the poem "In the 10th year of Yuanhe, I came from Langzhou to Beijing Opera to present flowers to all the gentlemen." After offending the powerful, he was pushed out to an even more remote Lingnan prefecture and county.

3. At this time, Liu Zongyuan was demoted to Liuzhou governor again. The two traveled south from Chang'an together and parted ways in Hengyang. Liu Zongyuan wrote a poem "Hengyang and Dreams Divided to Farewell" as a gift to Liu Yuxi, and "Registered to Lianzhou to Hengyang to Reward Liu and Liuzhou Farewell" was a reply to Liu Zongyuan's poem.
