Fan Chengda was one of the "Four Great Masters of Zhongxing" in the Southern Song Dynasty. After retiring from his hometown in his later years, he wrote a series of four-season pastoral essays, which vividly showed the four-season scenery in the rural areas of the Southern Song Dynasty and the life of farmers, and was widely praised for thousands of years.
Although this poem "The Head of beginning of autumn" is unpopular, it vividly shows the poet's open-minded feelings by describing the cycle of the four seasons and has great artistic appeal. The poem begins with the dog days, but the word "fumigation" describes the heat of midsummer.
Then the second sentence continues to describe the heat in summer, and the word "gone with the wind" depicts the impetuous mood to the extreme. Then the last two sentences are written in autumn.
Autumn has been sad and lonely since ancient times, but the poet said not to be disappointed, but to welcome the west wind and celebrate the arrival of autumn.
