Liu Changqing
Towards the mist on the water,
I still waved and cried.
Because birds are lost in space,
Over a desolate green hill.
But now the long river, the distant solitary sail,
Five lakes, shining with the light of spring in the sunset.
Along an island covered with duckweeds.
The peace of communication has come.
Appreciation of Liu Changqing's Poems
Although the title of the poem is "Farewell", there is no specific description of the farewell scene in the poem, not even a farewell sentence. At the beginning of this poem, his friend Wang Shiyi has boarded this ship, which is sailing in the vast Yangtze River.
The poet looked at the foggy river from a distance, waved his hand and expressed his feelings. At this time, only the poet himself was left on the river bank. However, from the poet's farewell, we can imagine the farewell of Jiang Xin's friends on board. The pen and ink are concentrated and refined, and the concept is exquisite. The poet used a series of actions such as "looking", "waving" and "touching the towel with tears" to express his feelings when he said goodbye to his friends.
He didn't express his thoughts directly, but borrowed the magnificent scenery on both sides of the Yangtze River from other places to his poems, and used the word "Wang" to integrate the immediate things with the feelings in his heart, and set off his melancholy feelings with the smoke and water on the riverside, the green hills on the shore and the birds in the sky.
The third sentence is both real and virtual. The "bird" in the poem is a metaphor for a friend's southern tour, and he devoted himself to his care and anxiety. The word "no" implies "hope". Where is it? It shows that the poet who stares at the distance has been following his friends far away for a long time. Sincere friendship is different from common courtesy. It is not in face-to-face social intercourse, but in parting. The poet's true feelings for his friends are reflected in this farewell poem "Gazing Alone for a Long Time".
However, the horizon is always limited. My friend is gone, and I will never see him again. Who will accompany you after parting? Only wearing such a green hill is there, and I can't bear to leave. The word "empty" not only points out that the sender is far away, but also sets off the poet's empty and lonely mood at this time. In the twists and turns, it shows the poet's ability to express his feelings through the scenery. On the surface, these five or six sentences only explain the beginning and end of a friend's long journey: a friend's sail sailed along the south of the Yangtze River and gradually reached the banks of the Five Lakes (referring to Taihu Lake). However, the artistic conception contained in the poem goes far beyond this. My friend's boat disappeared at the end of the Yangtze River, invisible to the naked eye, but the poet's heart went away with his friend and accompanied him to his destination.
At the end of the poem, I returned to the farewell scene from my trance.
The poet stood in Tingzhou, lost in thought at the autumn flowers, and couldn't bear to go home for a long time, and his heart was full of infinite sadness. Scenes blend, end to end, leaving thoughts, carefree and endless.
