In February, Baling was windy, and the cold spring was not over.
Haitang blushed without hesitation and drizzled independently.

Full text translation:
It is windy and rainy almost every day in Baling in February. The chilly spring chill is not over yet, which brings disaster to the flowers and trees in the garden, making people worry and fear! Delicate begonia, not sparing the bright red flowers, stands upright and blooms independently in the cold wind and rain.
About the author:
Chen (1090- 1 138), Han nationality, originally from Jingzhao, moved to Luoyang from his great-grandfather, and was born in Luoyang, Henan Province in the Song Dynasty. Yuan You was born in Song Zhezong in the fifth year (1090) and died in Shaoxing, Song Gaozong in the eighth year of Southern Song Dynasty (1 138). At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty and the beginning of the Southern Song Dynasty, he was an outstanding poet and also wrote lyrics. Although there are only more than ten existing ci poems, they are unique in style, especially close to Su Dongpo, with superb meaning and rhyme, brilliant brushwork and natural style, and the author of "Collection of Jane Zhai".
Precautions:
Baling: the name of an ancient county, now Yueyang City, Hunan Province. Duke of Garden: The poet wrote to himself: "By borrowing a small garden, I became Duke of Garden."
Rouge: A red pigment. Also refers to red.
Appreciation of works:
This quatrain is not so much about cold spring as about begonia. Speaking of chanting Haitang, I can't forget Su Shi's poem Haitang: "The east wind is full of glory, and the fragrant fog turns to the corridor." I was afraid that the flowers would fall asleep at night, so I lit candles and put on red makeup. "In fact, these two Haitang poems are all written by Haitang. The holiness and loneliness of Haitang in Su Shi's works is a portrayal of his relegation to Huangzhou. Chen's Haitang is elegant and lofty, which is a portrayal of his exile life. Therefore, the "wind" and "cold" in the first two sentences are both natural and social cold-the invasion of the southern nomads, the "broken mountains and rivers" in the small court of the Southern Song Dynasty, and the poet "experienced ups and downs". Why don't you feel "timid"? In the last two sentences, the poet wrote about Haitang in a way similar to that of pine, plum, chrysanthemum and bamboo, saying that it was proudly "independent" in the wind and rain, although it damaged its beautiful "rouge color". The style and elegance of begonia have been fully demonstrated. The poet touched Du Fu's poem "Flowers in the Woods are raining and rouge is wet", which not only has more charm, but also has more character. The poet's style, personality and elegance are integrated into the description of Haitang, making this poem a masterpiece of chanting things, which is the secret of chanting things.
