"Song of the Yue People" is an earlier poem that explicitly praises love in the history of Chinese literature. It, together with other folk poems of the Chu State, became the artistic source of "Chu Ci".
"Song of the Yue People" comes from Liu Xiang's "Shuo Yuan" (Volume 11, Shan Shuo Chapter) of the Han Dynasty. The thirteenth paragraph also has Chinese characters to record its pronunciation in ancient Yue.
