What does the "parable of ten girls" in Matthew mean?
"Ten virgins" show believers that they are betrothed to Christ as chaste virgins (see 2 Cor. 1 1: 2); "Lamp" represents human spirit (see Proverbs 227); The groom means that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming to marry the bride (see 9:15; John 3: 29) The bride is not mentioned here, but the virgin is mentioned, because the bride is the general name of the church (see 5: 25)-including all believers, while the virgin is an individual believer. This metaphor focuses on how everyone watches, prepares and waits for the coming of the Lord. The people who really "watch" are those who are deeply afraid that they are not ready; I don't think I've got it, I'm perfect, but I'm working hard for it (see Phil. 3: 12). If we live a godly life every day with the attitude of welcoming the return of the Lord, we will naturally reach the point of preparation soon.
