Watching Tide in Chen Shidao (Northern Song Dynasty)
Original text:
On the boundless beach, the tide rose, like a white rainbow; I guess it wasn't the fairy on the Yao altar who accidentally spilled nectar on the earth, so she came rushing.
In the turbulent tide, the reflection of the blue sky in the water bumps and shakes; Sunset sets and floats around in the rough waves of Hongbo.
Translation:
On the endless beach, the tide rose like a white rainbow; I guess, is it because Yaotai Fairy accidentally spilled the nectar in the jade cup on the ground? In the turbulent tide, the reflection of the blue sky bounces in the water; The sun sets, floating and sinking in the rough waves.
Extended data:
Qiantang River is located in Zhejiang Province, and its mouth is like a tiger's mouth. When the sea water flows in at high tide and is constrained by the river bed, it will cause huge waves, which is the famous Qiantang River tide since ancient times. Every August 16 to 18, the spring tide is the fiercest. The poet chooses 17 to watch the tide just to enjoy this magnificent spectacle.
As soon as this poem was written, it painted an extremely magnificent scene. The first sentence is about the rising tide, just like the silver line, which is constrained by the river bank and gradually rises, with the middle high and one side low. Describing Chaoshan as Bai Hong vividly reveals its appearance, color and momentum, which have never been known to people. The word "walk" is used to describe the approaching tide in the distance, rather than being there and feeling its beauty.
The second sentence is that the tide rushed to the front, and the image of the world is not enough to describe, so it was replaced by myth, saying that the gods overturned the jade cup, which caused such a huge tide. This technique is very similar to Li Bai's ode to Lushan Waterfall, "Flying down three thousands of feet, it is suspected that the Milky Way has set for nine days".
In three or four sentences, write about the situation after the tide. This poem writes about the surging waves on the river, but it doesn't directly write about water. It means that the reflection of the sky in the water is uneven, and the sunset in the west fluctuates up and down, further rendering the huge water potential and waves. The verbs "shake" and "rise and fall" have a shocking effect.
Four poems, divided into two layers before and after the tide. The first two sentences use exaggerated brushwork, combined with romantic imagination, to write the momentum of the ebb and flow of the tide, and the pen is like a river tide, which is exciting; The last two sentences use extravagance to write real scenes, which is somewhat magnificent.
Choose a close-up of each of the four poems, showing the whole process of tide watching and expressing the author's own admiration for the view of nature. This quatrain, through Bai Changhong's metaphor and Yao and Tai's fantasy of splashing wine, depicts the magnificent scenery of the spring tide in the Tang River with the help of sunny days and late days.
The whole article didn't use a lyrical word, but every sentence triggered the passion of reading the mountains and rivers of the motherland and loving nature.
