Ci Yue Ge is a Yuefu in the Northern Dynasty, which is found in the "miscellaneous ballads" in Yuefu Poetry Collection compiled by Guo Maoqian, a poet in the Song Dynasty. There are only twenty-seven words in the whole poem, but it describes the frontier scenery with high altitude, fat grass, strong cows and strong sheep, which highlights the vast and magnificent exotic atmosphere. Its bold and generous style is completely different from the graceful lingering of Yuefu in the Southern Dynasties represented by Wu Ge and opera.
An influential literary historian in the 1960s said: "The language is concise and tasteful, the whole poem is coherent and has a strong tone, even in folk songs." .
The literary history of the Northern and Southern Dynasties also made a similar evaluation: "The whole poem is just 27 words, with simple and natural language and vast weather, just like a painter's stroke. In an instant, a thick picture of the customs beyond the Great Wall appears at the end of the pen."

Chilechuan at the foot of Yinshan Mountain.
The sky is like the sky, and the cage covers four fields.
The sky is gray and wild.
See cattle and sheep when the wind blows.
At the foot of Yinshan Mountain is the vast plain of Chile. The sky in Chilechuan looks like a felt tent where herders live. Its four sides are connected with the earth, the blue sky is endless, and the green Yuan Ye is endless. When the wind blows to the grass, flocks of cattle and sheep appear and disappear.
