Acts 16:6-8 The voice of Macedonia keeps on preaching.
16: 6- 15 BC 8: 1-5 Macedonia has been a kingdom of its own since the 7th century BC. Alexander the Great became a great power after his rise, but in 167 BC, he fell under the rule of the Roman Empire and became a province of Rome. Macedonia played a decisive role in the spread of the gospel to Europe. From the biblical records, we can also see several virtues of the Macedonian church. First of all, the voice of Macedonia, a soul eager for the gospel, is familiar to everyone. Some people even wrote poems after it and were sung in many places. For Christians in China, knowing Macedonia is basically because of the "Voice of Macedonia" recorded in the Bible. Paul was able to go deep into Macedonia to preach the gospel because he saw Macedonians asking him in a vision. The vision comes from the revelation of God. Paul got this revelation (vision) because God would never show it to Paul for no reason, unless Macedonian believers were eager for the gospel and begged it urgently. Therefore, from this vision, we can see the Macedonian church's longing for the gospel. The content of the gospel is about Jesus Christ. Then, longing for the gospel is also longing for Jesus Christ. From the Bible, we can see such a poem: "In that day, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety, and his name will be called' the Lord our righteousness'" (Jeremiah 33: 16). "My little boys, I write these words to you so that you won't commit crimes. If anyone sins, we have a mediator with the Father, the righteous Jesus Christ. (1 John 2: 1) It can be seen that the desire for Jesus Christ is what Jesus called "hunger and thirst for righteousness". Jesus' promise to such people is that "they will be satisfied" (Matthew. 5:6). Macedonians are hungry for justice-when they cry in a vision, they are blessed with "satiety"-Paul explains the truth of the gospel to them. There is such a story. There was a king who was tired of the days in the imperial palace. One day, I went out for a walk alone. Walking in the far country, I'm hungry. By the farm hut, he saw an old man baking sweet potatoes, which were delicious. He had no money, but because he was hungry, he went up and said, "Old man, can you give me some?" The old man said, "No, you have to hoe the ground first." The king had no choice but to hoe the ground for him all morning. Then eat sweet potatoes with the old people. It's delicious. He has never eaten such delicious food. Then he returned to the palace. After a while, he missed the sweet potato baked by the old man so much that he sent someone to invite him into the palace. But the result goes without saying, but we can draw a conclusion that "being full" is a great blessing for a hungry person. This is true of material life, and so is spiritual life. Why don't we yearn for and get a sense of spiritual fullness? Because we are "full" and not hungry. However, our "satiety" has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, so what makes us full? Explain it in the words of Jesus Christ.
