Big class science activity: Butterfly habitat
Activity goals:
1. Be curious about the phenomenon of balance and have a desire to explore.
2. Try to maintain a balanced approach.
Activity preparation:
Watercolor pens, 20 butterflies; some paper clips and plasticine for each group.
Activity process:
1. First operation

The butterfly wants to stop firmly on the tip of my finger, okay?
2. Operation exploration.
3. Communicate with each other and demonstrate your own methods.
4. Guide children to observe where their fingers rest on the butterfly to maintain balance, and mark this position with a pen.
2. The second operation
1. Create problem situations to arouse children’s interest in exploration.
It doesn’t touch this part, but it allows the butterfly to stop firmly on the tip of my finger, okay?
2. Operation exploration.
3. Communicate with each other and demonstrate your own methods.
4. Draw a conclusion: Place your fingers against the side of the wing where the weight is added.
3. The third operation
1. Create problem situations to arouse children’s interest in exploration.
If I add weight to one side of the butterfly, can the butterfly still stop firmly on the tip of my finger?
2. Operation exploration.
3. Communicate with each other and demonstrate your own methods.
4. Draw a conclusion: Add items of the same weight to the other side of the butterfly.
