Artificial Intelligence Argumentative Paper

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, robots are becoming more and more like humans. There are witty Siri and Xiaobing in the front, and Sophia, the world's first robot citizen, in the back. This can't help but make some people worry, will the development of robots pose a threat to human beings themselves?

In my opinion, the simulation of humans by robots is just a product of calculation, but in this era when machinery is widely used, how to protect the fundamental difference between us and robots-humanity is the most urgent problem.

When AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedol and Ke Jie, people all felt the huge gap in computing power between the human brain and computers. Faced with an alpha dog who can see thousands of possibilities with just one glance at the chessboard and see the end of the chess game, I believe that genius chess players can only lose. However, as Ke Jie said, his sweat and struggle in the chess game, his joy of progress, and the pain of failure cannot be felt by any machine. They just know how to play, but they don’t know why they play, let alone the fun of playing chess. There is a scene in Liu Cixin's short story "Poetry Cloud": a super civilization hollowed out the earth, exhausted all the resources of the solar system, and created a giant poetry storage, which contains all poetry from the past, present and future. However, it cannot distinguish between good and bad poetry, and can only float in space; it contains all the possibilities of beauty, but can only wait for people to write them out. So what if robots are becoming more and more like humans? What if the robot can play chess or write poetry? Machines are just machines after all, and only humans can feel the love, joy and beauty behind them.

However, behind the machines, there are still humans. Instead of focusing on how robots will become more and more like humans and worrying about imaginary threats, it is better to focus on their impact on humans themselves. As early as the Industrial Revolution, the development of modern large-scale machine industry had caused tremendous changes in the social structure. With the development of social productivity, a large number of farmers were forced to move to the secondary and tertiary industries. Nowadays, robots are used in a wider range of applications: in addition to industrial robots, extremely "human" robots are also used in the service industry and other fields to take care of children, accompany the elderly, order food in restaurants... and many people are attracted by this. Worry and fear that robots will replace humans in many aspects, leading to unemployment and a series of disturbances. But I want to say that no matter how human-like these robots are and how they replace humans in completing basic tasks, they will ultimately not be able to replace humans in terms of creativity and other aspects. In order to cope with the unemployment dilemma, we will generally improve the level of education, art appreciation and creativity under the pressure exerted by machines, so that humanity can stand at a higher peak. As French scientist Suel said, "Machines are highly anthropomorphic and will redefine the value of 'human beings'". I think that firmly grasping the difference between us and machines and cherishing the flash of humanity is the new value of being human.

So, how can we better let humanity shine behind the machinery? First of all, we should prevent criminals from using technology to endanger human security. The real threat comes not from the robots themselves, but from the humans who control them. Second, we should vigorously promote mainstream values, eradicate the emergence of vicious ideological trends from the source, and at the same time spread the beauty of human nature. Third, while improving people's creativity, they should also strengthen the influence of art and culture. Amidst the roar of machines, they can enjoy tea and read books to create a pure land.

Cook said: "I'm not worried about robots thinking like humans, I'm just worried about humans thinking like robots." Let the sparkle of humanity always remain behind the cold machines, This is what we need most so that people don't become just like machines.
