Wang Anshi (1021-1086), a famous politician and poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, was named Jiefu. He was a native of Linchuan (now Fuzhou, Jiangxi). He was known as Wang Linchuan, Wang Jinggong and Wang Wengong in the world. New laws were introduced, but he was attacked by conservatives and forced to resign. In his later years, he lived in Jinling, calling himself the Old Man of the Mountains, and devoted himself to poetry and literature. Shortly after the repeal of the new law, he died in grief and indignation. He is one of the "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties".
