"Viewing the Cutting of Wheat" and "Morning Journey to Shangshan" are ancient poems. Ancient poetry is a poetry style relative to modern poetry. Before the formation of modern poetry, various poetry genres existed. Also known as ancient poetry and ancient style, it has three carriers: "song", "line" and "yin".
The ancient quatrains also had authors in the Tang Dynasty; they all belong to the scope of ancient poetry. In the process of development, ancient style poetry has an interactive relationship with modern style poetry. In the late Southern and Northern Dynasties, new style poetry appeared that focused on rhythm and antithesis, but had not yet formed a complete meter, and was somewhere between ancient style and modern style.
Some ancient poems in the Tang Dynasty had a rhythmic tendency, and even ancient-style works often incorporated modern-style sentence patterns. However, there are also some ancient poetry authors who consciously distinguish themselves from modern styles, often using oblique sentences and occasionally prose to avoid rhythm.

Characteristics of ancient style poetry
From the point of view that the ancient style is incorporated into the rhythm but not the rhythm, the school of Gao Shi and Wang Wei (into the rhythm), Later, Bai Juyi, Lu You and others belonged to this school; Li Bai and Du Fu belonged to another school (not entering the law), and later Han Yu and Su Shi belonged to this other school. The "Yuanhe style" advocated by Bai Juyi, Yuan Zhen and others is actually a flexible application of the ancient style of entering the law.
From the above, we can see that under the name of ancient poetry, there are various genres, some of which are very different from each other. The ancient poetry of miscellaneous words and the ancient style of rhyme can be said to be two extremes.
Five-character ancient poems and seven-character ancient poems are also different: more of the Five-character poems are not included in the rhyme, while more of the Seven-character ancient poems are included in the rhyme. Of course, there are exceptions. For example, Bailiang style cannot be an ancient style that conforms to the law. If you look at various "ancient styles" from various angles, you won't doubt that their rhythms are elusive.
