Brief introduction of Lei Qiong World Geopark

Located in the north and south wings of the Leiqiong Strait, the park belongs to the volcanic zone of Lu Gu, Lei Qiong in geology. Parker volcano and petrology recorded the evolution of Lei Qiong rift and the expansion of South China Sea basin. There are many volcanoes in the park, including 10 1 volcano. Volcanic types cover almost all types of basaltic magma eruption and steam magma eruption: lava cone, clastic cone (splash cone, slag cone), mixed cone and Mar volcano (low-level crater, tuff ring). Its quantity, variety and completeness are the first in China's Quaternary volcanic belt. It is a natural masterpiece of Quaternary basalt volcanology.

geologic feature

The two parks in the park are both developed from the Mar volcano (low-level crater, tuff ring) formed by the explosion of steam magma generated by the interaction between hot magma and cold water. Huguangyan, Tian Yang, Bronze Ocean (Zhanjiang Park), Shuangchiling and Yang Hualing (Haikou Park) are all typical Mars volcanoes. The basement of Ma 'er volcano is formed by the accumulation of inrush current, and its iconic structures such as layered structure, low-angle staggered layer, sand dunes, long wave layer, U-shaped erosion groove, concave pit, flexible bending and accretion of volcanic gravel (volcanic ash ball) are very typical.

Ma 'er Lake in Huguangyan is the starting point of research on Ma 'er Lake in China, and also the base of cooperative research between Chinese and German scientists.

Geological landscape

The geological landscapes associated with volcanoes, such as lava structures, crustal lava, magma splashing projectiles and lava tunnels, are extremely rich, diverse, systematic and typical, which are rare among similar geological relics at home and abroad, and are considered as a veritable Quaternary volcano natural exposition park. The park is located in the transitional zone between the tropics and the south subtropics, and is a typical transitional biological community between the tropics and the south subtropics in China. The Quaternary volcano in the park is adjacent to the coastal cities and blends with the tropical island environment, which constitutes the characteristics of "tropical city volcano ecology" and "tropical and south subtropical island volcano ecology". Haikou City and Zhanjiang City, which belong to the park, are famous historical and cultural cities in China. The harmonious development of human activities and volcanoes (basalt) constitutes a unique and rich cultural heritage of the park. Various volcanoes, fertile red soil, green coconut island, blue sea and silver beach blend organically, depicting the harmonious beauty of red, blue and green. This is the precious wealth that nature has given to mankind.

Huguangyan Volcano Museum

Lei Qiong World Geological Company

The newly-built volcano museum in Huguangyan is located at the west gate of the scenic spot about 100 meters, which is one of the important supporting facilities for Huguangyan to build a world geological park. The exhibition area of the museum is about 2,500 square meters, mainly including large-scale simulated volcanic eruption, sand table of Leizhou Peninsula, acoustic and photoelectric volcanic models, display of volcanic geological resources, display of volcanic popular science knowledge, display of rare stone materials and root carvings with popular science or ornamental value, animal and plant specimens, stone tools, basalt and ancient cultural relics. According to Professor Zhao Xun, a judge of the UNESCO World Geopark, this is a museum with the characteristics and grades of volcanic models and the level of modern science and technology among similar national geoparks in China. Huguangyan Volcano Museum introduces the geological knowledge of volcanoes and the evolution process of life on earth in a simple way through dynamic volcano models, refined text descriptions and rich specimens and pictures, vividly translates the volcanic geological connotation of Leizhou Peninsula and fully displays the volcanic ecological resources of Leizhou Peninsula. It is a new classroom for young students in our city to learn popular science and a new project of modern tourism.

Introduction of scenic spots

Sino-German Sisters Ma 'erhu Memorial Card

Lake Mar in Huguangyan and Lake Mar in Eiffel, Germany are rare and non-renewable geological resources in the world. They are the "natural almanac" and "natural museum" of global paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental science research, and also a "golden key" for human beings to open the network hall of local enthusiasts. The Eiffel region is the origin of Mars mythology Lake research in Europe and even the world, and Mars mythology Lake in Zhanjiang Huguangyan is the starting point of Mars mythology Lake research in China. At present, these two lakes are world-famous volcanic geological scenic spots.

Xuwen Sandun Guishi

Xuwen Sandun Turtle Stone is located in Huguangyan Park. The lifelike and peculiar turtle stones of Xuwen Sandun left a deep impression on tourists. This peculiar geological landscape belongs to one of the scenic spots in Lei Qiong Volcano World Geopark. It reflects the geological conditions of Leizhou Peninsula that were different from other places at that time when the volcano erupted, forming a unique turtle stone, which is unique among the volcanic geological relics in Lei Qiong and has great scientific research value. Geological technicians or researchers need to track the geological environment during volcanic eruption according to the characteristics of turtle stone formation.

Shuangchiling volcano

Shuangchiling is the smallest Mar volcano in the Leihuling volcano group, but it consists of two Mar volcanoes. It is located 3km northwest of Ma 'anling in Shishan, with an altitude of 105m (Xiling) and 93m (Dongling), an inner diameter of 130-300m and a depth of 15m. Huguangyan in Shuangchiling and volcanic eruption in Zhanjiang belong to the same period. Twin twin craters are rare and have development value.

crosscut

In the crater park, there is a stone gate built of volcanic rocks. Shimen is the custom of local architecture, and it is also the only place to enter ancient villages and cottages. It can be said that this is the first line of defense of ancient villages and cottages, built with ordinary volcanic rocks.

Volcanic cave

654.38 million years ago, Haikou volcano erupted, and the accumulated lava naturally weathered, showing a variety of strange landscapes, forming a rare Quaternary volcanic group in the world. The remains of Haikou Volcano Group have different shapes, like a string of pearls embedded in Qiongzhou land. Strolling among them, the mountains are beautiful, the lava is steep, the caves are deep and unique.

dawn redwood

The Metasequoia glyptostroboides forest near Huguangyan Park is rich in negative ions and particularly fresh. This is natural oxygen. Drinking tea and chatting with friends in the bamboo pavilion is a great pleasure in life.

Poetry gallery

The Poetry Gallery is located on the right side of Lengyan Temple in Huguangyan Park, Lei Qiong World Geopark, and is a collection of ancient and modern celebrities' poems. It rises step by step according to the terrain, and the cloister trilogy is novel and elegant.

Meishe village

Meishe village is located in the volcanic area, and the surface water is very scarce. However, due to the villagers' awareness of ecological protection since ancient times, this beautiful ancient village is surrounded by green trees, and there are many ancient trees, including golden Huang Huali, Hainan Li Mian, Hailaopin, Volcano Mountain Ficus, Chinese and American men's Shuangyang trees, hero trees and cotton, which are called "Hainan's three treasures". Hainan famous goats, Hainan partridges, squirrels, pythons, three-line turtle, pheasant and oriole live in these forests.

Maanling crater

Ma 'anling crater is the highest volcanic cone in Haikou Volcano Group Park of Lei Qiong World Geopark and the highest point in Qiongbei area, with an altitude of 222.8m, an inner mouth diameter of 130m and a depth of 90m. It is said that Ma 'anling is one of the dormant craters with the latest geological age in China and the most complete preservation in the world.

Jinghu

Huguangyan Mirror Lake is clear and spotless, so it is called "Mirror Lake". The average water depth of the lake is18m, and the deepest part is over 40m. The lake is slightly heart-shaped with an area of 2.23 square kilometers. Huguangyan has high geological value, is a rare representative of volcanic lake in the world since the fourth century, and occupies an important position in the world. Comrade Dong once summed it up in ten words: "Four mountains surround the lake, and the lake is as bright as a mirror". The essence of Huguangyan is a vast lake as pure as a mountain spring.
